There is no "cast album" but a rather elaborate demo with a full cast of performers and orchestra was available...21 tracks (though some were cut or replaced before the Broadway opening.) It can be found through the usual channels.

Cast albums are NOT "soundtracks."
Live theatre does not use a "soundtrack." If it did, it wouldn't be live theatre!

I host a weekly one-hour radio program featuring cast album selections as well as songs by cabaret, jazz and theatre artists. The program, FRONT ROW CENTRE is heard Sundays 9 to 10 am and also Saturdays from 8 to 9 am (eastern times) on www.proudfm.com

bryan, I love you so much. Seriously I do and I know you wish there was a cd. But this show was trash. And this is coming from one of John Waters biggest fans EVER.

I do! But we are lucky to have a handsome cast album that I listen to almost every day! (If I'm not listening to that, I am probably listening to Good Vibrations!)

THANK GOD for the OBCR!!!!

Thanks for a hearty laugh! My favorite aspect of the show was the artwork for the poster and Playbill cover.

While I know this is an ongoing (and really annoying) thing with you: HOW can you possibly miss something you NEVER saw or heard? Get over it. It ain't going to happen. EVER.

And it was crap.

Wasn't there talk about a studio recording with people like Jo Ann Worley, John Stamos and Leslie Ann Warrren?

I do. Very much, actually. I saw the show in La Jolla and loved it, and was very saddened when it closed quickly. And I'm not ashamed to say it.

I would describe the cast recording as "hearty."

Why are almost all Bryan's posts about cry baby?

I wasn't a fan of this show, but don't blame Bryan for mentioning it. After all, most of my posts are about THE FIRST WIVES CLUB.

ABB -- you don't understand...this is literally the only thing Bryan does....bemoan that he misses a show he never saw. He must set a reminder on his calendar every 6 weeks or so JUST to whine about it. Note: he never saw it, he never listened to a bootleg....he just "wants" it to be recorded.

Bryan just likes to annoy us. Although I doubt that he has any true clue to the annoyance part of his posts.

dramamama, this is where the "outrage" should be seen. Cry Baby closing is such a travesty!

1. REALLY this outlasted Ragtime? Yikes. VERY sad.

2. Dottie: Bwahahahaha.

I know that people are going to throw stuff at me, and that MAMA is going to lose whatever respect she had for me...but...I miss it (quickly ducks under desk). I miss Rob Ashford's sexy choreography and hearing the judge say "...not so fast, PIE." I'll admit that it wasn't on the same level as Hairspray, but it was fun. I mss Carly Jibson too.

I miss Lestat

How about combining Lestat & Crybaby with Lestat as Crybaby?
