I have an extremely large (over 30000 playbills) collections I need to sell. Does anyone have any ideas of the best way to go about this? I know of ebay but I was wondering if there were any other options.
Thanks.

Posted: 7/9/10 at 10:14amI think you should post some here and then go to eBay as a last resort. I'd like to know what's in your collection. :)

Posted: 7/9/10 at 10:35amI would put them on ebay in groups of 20-60. Not sure how you would categorize them, but people would probably be more likely to buy them like that, because even I, an avid playbill collector, probably wouldn't buy a collection of 30,000 at once.

I'm sure it's a long shot, but if you have the flop 45 SECONDS FROM BROADWAY (w/ Marian Seldes, Alix Korey, from 2001-2002, preferably Jan 2002) I would love it. Also Les Mis original production from roughly Jan. 2003. They are the only shows I've seen that I don't have any sort of Playbill.
Now, all of you who "called dibs" - do you really want ALL of the Playbills that are related to that show/composer? (The person does have 30,000 of them... just sayin). Cuz I'd love to peruse a list of RENT playbills and possibly A CHORUS LINE or WICKED.
Also: original ANNIE, Mary Martin's PETER PAN, original KING AND I, JAYNE EYRE, MILLIE, LAST 5 YEARS, LITTLE SHOP.

Here's a REALLY random request...
I NEED a Playbill from the Off-Broadway show THE MOST FABULOUS STORY EVER TOLD by Paul Rudnick with the replacement cast (Jesse Tyler Ferguson & Lea Delaria). How I lost it I don't know, but it's the only show I've ever seen that I don't have my Plabill from.

Posted: 7/9/10 at 6:08pmI appreciate all "dibs" but I don't really have the time or the inclination to start breaking up the collection piece by piece. I have a spreadsheet with all the playbills listed but I don't know how to make it viewable. There are approx 36,744 total. I guess I can try listing it on ebay.

You must have a whole lotta duplicates.
I would suggest you group them into sets and sell them on eBay. You'll get better results that way.
And if you have some rare ones, I would sell those individually.
Here's the thing ... if you're not willing to do at least some work to sell them, you're not going to make much money off of them. Just selling 36,000+ Playbills in a mass bulk with a high minimum bid will likely get you nowhere.
Try, if you want to.

Posted: 7/9/10 at 8:17pmTo whomever asked, yes, I want *all* the Chorus Line ones. My goal is to have a playbill from every month it ran on Broadway from 1975-1990, and I need any of the Off-Broadway ones.
