Wow, what an original thought for a thread.
Where did you ever think it up?

no really. I liked it a lot. And it wasnt just frilly there was a true messege and i loved the cast. i know they wont get it but they deserve the tony.
Omigod! Like, welcome! Thanks for, like, joining today, just to like, tell us, like, how much you, like, really loved LEGALLY BLONDE!
You've got tears coming out of your nose!
No. I hope it closes and is a miserable failure. It's just wasting space.
lwoods, Legally Blonde would have to get nominated first. We'll soon see, but I don't think that's going to happen. LBB is not giving a Tony worthy performance, and she will be overlooked.
What other new musicals have you seen this season?

Who says that Legally Blonde will even get nominated for Best Musical? There are other more deserving shows for Best Musical like Spring Awakening, Grey Gardens, Curtains, LoveMusik. I think those four are going to be the ones nominated for Best Musical.
Please, don't encourage the most obvious shill I've seen since the BKLYN days.
LEGALLY BLONDE was a roughly entertaining night out. But there is no way in hell that it deserves to be nominated - let alone win - best musical.
And a really unfunny one.

I'd like to think that shills are smarter than that. She's probably either just a young girl who thinks Legally Blonde's the best thing since cheese, or making fun of the girls who do.

Legally Blonde is fantastic but it is not Tony Worthy. And LBB is great, but again...not Tony Worthy. She made Elle Woods a mix of Glinda (Wicked) and Amber (Hairpsray)...both roles she already played...and she is kinda blah but great at the sametime..which basically means "it works". But no honey, no Tony Awards. at least i hope not!

That's an awful thing to say, jv92! You can hate the musical, but how dare you hope for all those talented performers to be out of work. Wasted space? HA! Legally Blonde is number 5 in capacity (94.23%). Everyone's dearly beloved Grey Gardens' capacity is currently at 51.8% and when it first opened it was about 10% lower than Legally Blonde. I'm not defending the musical (I've never seen it), but I'm calling you out on your extremely rude and dumb statement.
Sorry about that... as for the thread: I know it probably won't win best musical or even get nominated (although... you never know), but I'd really like to see Orfeh and Jerry get recognition.
"Everyone's dearly beloved Grey Gardens' capacity is currently at 51.8% and when it first opened it was about 10% lower than Legally Blonde."
Yes, because Lord knows the public ALWAYS goes to see the better quality works. As we've learned from Ragtime, Caroline or Change, The Light in the Piazza, I Am My Own Wife, Journey's End, and The Lieutenant of Inishmore.
it wont win best musical but that doesnt mean it deserves bashing. a lot of people put hard work into it, some for over 5 years, and it isnt fair to bash the musical.
Oh, wickedfan, don't forget Passion, Sweeney Todd, and Well.
And the "hard work" argument doesn't hold water. So, people aren't allowed to say Lestat was crap because hard work went into it? That's ridiculous.
If someone doesn't like it, they can bash it all they want. You may not agree with it, I don't always agree with it either, but it's a stupid argument to say, "You shouldn't say mean things because people 'worked hard' to make it, and people will be out of jobs if it closes." They're actors, of course they would like to be in a job, but if the show closes, they'll move on and find another. That's the way it works. The writers' jobs were to create something of quality, if they didn't do it, than they didn't do their jobs. Simple as that.
Oh yes, of course! Pretty much 90% of Sondheim shows. If audiences went to see the better quality productions, the original production of Follies would still be around today and Cats would've closed after a matter of months.
