A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

Posted: 6/13/14 at 9:28amI think RuPaul would be a great replacement for the show, even if just for a couple of weeks. As Drag Race season 7 starts filming in the summer, I'm doubtful he'd be the replacement for Billy unless an understudy performed until around the end of August. I'm not too sure how well he'd handle the dramatic scenes, but the comedy and singing would be spot on.

Do we know for sure that Billy is leaving anytime soon? When asked (in April) how long he will stay with the show he said
Porter: As long as I can. Until something better comes along and that's a really tall order. I've gotten really picky in terms of where I'm going to go next as a performer. It's not going to be just anything. You know what I mean? The role is too good. The experience is too complete. The paycheck is fierce. I didn't shop for 13 years. I like clothes and cute things!
Seems like he would have known then if he was leaving this summer.

VotePeron- That's interesting. When I saw the show in October, Billy looked like he hated his job and phoned in his performance. He was not fresh at all.
