Which means they trimmed it down by 10 min since the first preview.

"If this is going to be a Christian nation that doesn't help the poor, either we have to pretend that Jesus was just as selfish as we are, or we've got to acknowledge that He commanded us to love the poor and serve the needy without condition and then admit that we just don't want to do it." -Stephen Colbert

Glad they've tightened it up! It definitely felt a bit too long and labored at the first preview.

I hope you enjoy it! I didn't at all, but lots of folks at my performance did. It ended at 10:45, but I was in rear mezz and didn't get out of the theater till 10:55-11:00.

Even if cuts have been made I think they're still more to be done, specifically to the first act which felt incredibly long in addition to all over the place.

Run time: Long and slow. Period.

I think they should cut "A House Is Not a Home." It was boring and unncessary. "I Say a Little Prayer" is also unnecessary to the plot, but I hope they keep it because I thought it was one of the highlights of the show.

"Say A Little Prayer" is a dreadful part of the show, but they'll never cut it because it's one of the only songs in the show people actually know.

oh geez now this has become one of those threads.

A friend saw it last night, got out at 10:40 - so another five minutes down.

Hope this means they're tightening that first act! I wanna see it again...grrr...

and everyone needs to just stop about the new songs. They're staying. and honestly, they're not abysmal, and work to at least some degree, so chill.
