Opening of Sweeney Todd. In fact, most of the damn show.

Yes, THE WOMAN IN BLACK is one of the scariest shows I've seen.
However, when the corpse jumped out of the bed in THE PILLOWMAN, I seriously screamed.

when i was 7 i saw my first broadway show: Phantom and we were sitting in the middle of the orchestra and when the flames came up from the stage i screamed so loud that the actress playing christine flinched haha and everyone around me started laughing. i will always remember that lol.
the other two times i recently saw it the gun shot at the end of point of no return scared the hell out of me
in the '82 dvd of sweeney todd when !!**SPOILERS**!!
he kills the Beadle and it comes down through the shoot all bloody and the whistle goes off it freaks me out. and that's just the dvd i can't imagine tht live. however the revival is frighteningly delicious as well
In Titanic the Musical when the boat sank, that was really scary too

RoninJoey,
I think something even more scary is the point our dearly beloved Carol morphs into a goat...

Do you mean the train scene? It was at the very end...

No I think he means the part someone was talking about with the door..
I saw the show many times and I don't think that it happened

Whenever Patti Lupone appears
Hahahaa
Oh, no not the train, that's quite vivid! I was sitting in the last row and I still jumped back. The entire theatre just shifted the other way! It was so funny!
Yea, I'm sure that WIW scene with the door didn't happen because it's not that type of show.

Woman In Black is awesome! I wish they had it in NYC. Basically you are holding on to the person next to you the whole time.
Les Mis...as much as I love that musical, the gun shots make me jump. I have memorized when they are going to be shot so that I don't jump.
Beauty and the Beast...haha it was the funniest thing. Belle was looking at the Rose and we all knew that the Beast was going to come out and yell at her, but we were all surprised when he came from a different direction than we thought. Everyone jumped, even this big guy next to me.

It's quite embarrassing, but when I saw "Aida" the first time I was sitting right next to a speaker.
So when the overture started (and it starts out really loud), it was so unbelievably loud I was quite terrified!

The shot that kills Garvoche in Les Miz.

In Vegas, the intro for "Mamma Mia" is so loud that everyone jumps. It's hilarious.
mrslovett,
