As much as I love his work to death, keep the West Side revival AWAY from Doyle!
I think that should would be fantastic with younger actors cast.. MUCH younger actors. I think that they could pull it off. If this turns into a "The Most Beautiful Sound I Ever Heard - THE REALITY SHOW! Pick your Maria and Tony from SOMEONE across the country and it could be YOU!"... I will have to slap a bitch.
SondheimGeek: Is it slightly pathetic that you guys get to be Jedi bitches, and I'm Bitchy the Hutt?
LizzieCurry: No, you're more memorable
LADY IN THE DARK- with an updated book, and Patti Lupone or Christine Ebersole as Liza Elliott. This BADLY needs a revival, as it has yet to have one since originally opening in 1941
- DAMN YANKEES! (updated? Not the Washington Senators, say Boston?) - LOVE! VALOUR! COMPASSION! (The Play) - KISS OF THE SPIDERWOMAN - HAIR - SOUTH PACIFIC - THE RED SHOES
Funny Girl - starring Ana Gasteyer Once Upon A Mattress - Done right it could be great! Bye Bye Birdie Pippin The Producers 3 years after it closes (Haha!) Hello Dolly! - Starring Carol Burnett Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (*tears* I miss DRS) The Odd Couple - With Nathan Lane and Mark Linn-Baker
"I'm tellin' you, the only times I really feel the presence of God are when I'm having sex and during a great Broadway musical." - Nathan Lane - Jeffrey
damn yankees-yes!!! pippin-maybe into the woods-was revived 5 years ago joseph-no!!!! camelot-the mike york tour should open once on this island-yes! titanic-not really
Side Show!!! Dreamgirls Bare Footloose Caroline or Change Carrie(w/a revised script) Seussical Miss Saigon Once on this Island On the Town Show Boat Secret Garden Thats all I can think of for now
Whoever said "ANNIE" should really do their research... It's playing RIGHT NOW at Madison Square Garden. It comes around once every 10 years or so, the last time I can remember it being revived was 1997, I think... Coincidentally, I believe the same actor is playing Daddy Warbucks in this production. It's like "PETER PAN" - it never really goes away and definitely DOES NOT need a full-scale Broadway revival.
And there are rumors circulating already about the return of "ANYTHING GOES" starring Catherine Zeta-Jones. I don't know if they're true or not, but the rumors are there....
