It is perfectly safe because even in the off chance that the strike will continue into then (which I'm positive it won't), you can get a refund anyway.
I was wondering about buying a tickets for January as well. I am going to the city and would like to see Legally Blonde. I would be buying the tickets as a birthday present, and I think it would suck if they are still on strike, kind of a ruined gift.
Thats a good point about the refund, I didnt really think about that

I don't know how far from NYC you live but a trip into the city can be a gift in and of itself. I know you want to see LB but there are so many other things you can do. I say, get your tickets and if the strike is still going on then just go to other places in the city. The Museum of Radio and Television is fun and so are many, many other things. See an off-Broadway show. Still come! *s*

I live about 3 hours from the city and I come up very often. I see off Broadway shows all the time the reason I am worried about it this time is because this is a gift for a friend of mine. She recently had a baby and its her b-day I just don't want to tell her. "I'm taking you to see Legally Blonde for your birthday" and then have it not happen thats all. Also I really didn't think about getting a refund before I posted that
Maybe this means the strike might be going national? Now I don't work in the industry, so I don't know if they would call their employees to the theatre to tell them that. God, I pray to the theatre God that the strike does not go national.
Woah, woah, WOOOOOOOAAAAHHHH!
Let's not bring ourselves down now, folks. Keep with the POSITIVE MENTAL aTTITUDE. We'll hear confirmation soon enough. Keep those fingers crossed!
sorry! *adds an n*
can you guys who know people in broadway shows try to contact them and see what is up?

I called my boyfriend whos in a show and I asked what was going on and he said "sorry can't talk now, important things happening" hes a little crazy but thats what he said...
hey, if important things are happening, that could be good, yes?
Huh. So, as I suspected, something big must have happened. It's just that it could be a while before we know if it's good or bad.
"hey, if important things are happening, that could be good, yes?"
Sounds hopeful to me!
*corsses fingers* dear God I hope so
I work on a show that is on strike and I have heard nothing.
mizzfit, what show is your boyfriend a part of???
Curtainpulldowner, I'll go you one better...
I'm an Equity deputy on a striking show and I've not heard a thing either. Neither had the guys on our picket line, when everything was supposedly going down this afternoon...Equity has been very good at keeping us updated.
My first thought was that talks had fallen apart and people were going to their theatres to hear that their shows were closing...but it's been a few hours now, so I'm thinking that was wrong.
Ugh, I am starting to think that something very, very bad has happened.
I am seriously hoping this is over!
Oh and on the plus side:
Most Broadway show's sites have taken down the "Due to a strike of stage hands performances as of ___ are canceled." Which is also a good sign :)
Cause they've all been regularly editing those dates, but now most sites have taken them down.
I seriously hope this is over!

It could be good news, it could be bad news... We have to just wait until some official announcement is made. Glinda, don't be so pessimistic =). By the way, it's kind of funny how much your post and your sig contrast lol.
I'm taking it as a good sign that there was a thread that was just deleted.
interesting that they just deleted the thread about the news teaserr......
very queer.
ehhh, CW's news report is nothing new but that they are still talking.
i know right. it's confusing me, was there a teaser?
a CNN crawl saying "brodway dark no more," apparently.
I'm so frazzled by all of this. What's the word. OFFICIALLY? Someone, anybody ... Please, shed some light.
