You aren't the only one, folkyboy!
Both guys are adorable. Jeff is hot. But oh, that Hunter!
A lip-smackingly scrumptuous butterscotch sundae of a guy.
Those sweet talkin' cuddly Southern boys do it for me every time.
(How old ARE they, anyway?)

Alright, y'all, kiss. Seriously y'all? Kiss.
... I'd like to see it go to Broadway if only to fulfill Jeff & Hunter's dreams. But yeah, it would probably flop.

Posted: 10/9/06 at 10:55amI must say, Hunter does have that cute as a button accent. He and Jeff remind me of sitcom characters from the 80s, you know, that goofiness tied in with the physical comedy (Jim J. Bullock-esque on TOO CLOSE FOR COMFORT).

I didn't say anything about TDF.
I Loved this show, I just wish off-Broadway was able to sustain and make a profit as it used to.
If Bridge and Tunnel and Jay Johnson, which were One Person shows could run at the Hayes maybe (Title) could.

Foster, I'm not quite sure why you are on the defensive CONSTANTLY these last few weeks, but you pick fights wherever you go - and most of them are unjustified and innane.
I AM familiar with the show. I saw a video. I have the CD. I have the script. I know it quite well. My saying that, financially, the show would flop - is not anything against the show. Not every single "little show that could" is meant to open OFf-Broadway and transfer to Broadway. It's just not always going to work, and (TITLE OF SHOW) is obviously one of them. It's so obvious that it would never work, that frankly, it frightens me that you think it could.

Posted: 10/9/06 at 2:42pmThey should tour it like Forbidden Broadway to smaller "houses" around the country. And I'm sure regional theaters would love to do it.

I think that this show would do very well at someplace like New World. It is the type of show that has a harder time attracting a loyal following because it doesn't contain a name or a hunk to attract the younger following. However, it is different and unique and well thought out. When I saw it, I enjoyed it, but felt that I had no reason to see it again because it is a show you need only see once. However, after listening to the CD, I find the songs constantly sticking in my head and I wish I could see it again.
Put in a theatre such as the one Altar Boyz plays in, it could do well for a while.

Posted: 10/9/06 at 5:32pmThose New World Stages Theaters are like big hollow gymnasiums. If they're going to keep it Off-Broadway, it should be in a tighter space. If it were to move to Broadway, a theater like the Helen Hayes is nice and condensed.

#39re: [title of show] Broadway transfer?
Posted: 10/9/06 at 9:22pmI saw the show not too long ago and I thought it was very cute and funny and my sister even bought the cd after the show, but I agree that it really works better in a smaller, more intimate setting. Especially with broadway becoming more about Disney and less about originality, it really just wouldn't work. I am sad it left off broadway, but I do not think it would really work in a big broadway theater. Also, it is true that a lot of the jokes come from people in the theater world you would need to know that a lot of tourists coming to see a fun broadway show would not get. It will be missed by the off bway community though!

Posted: 3/8/08 at 9:49pmany word on what theatre [TOS] will open in, and when yet? They said spring of '08, so I am thinking they should be making an announcement some time soon.

Posted: 3/9/08 at 12:24amI would love for them to tour as well, but I don't see it happening. But if it does I will be the first in line to buy tickets for their Chicago performance.

Posted: 3/9/08 at 3:34amA year and a half after this thread began, people are STILL acting like this is coming to Broadway. Amazing. Wake me up in another year and a half, and tell me it's STILL coming. :)

It makes no less sense financially than transferring TOS. At least New Jerusalem has some appeal beyond theater insiders.
