A lotto an hour or so before curtain.
Look for the attractive chick in the [title of show] shirt.

Posted: 7/16/08 at 5:00pmI did lotto for the Sunday matinee. There were only small handful of people that didn't win tickets.

What time is the lotto. Like What time do they collect names and what time do that call them
As for Joel Grey doing the lotto. Why not. I am sure he could afford a full price ticket as could a lot of people. But, if you want to take a chance of getting front row for cheap then why not?

Haha, literally 6 people did not win for the Sunday matinee. I was one of the 6. Won for the night show though!

They collect names 90 minutes before curtain, and draw names one hour before curtain.
I did the lotto with my friend Ray from the board here on Saturday night, and it was pretty crowded. We both lost.

Do you guys think it'll be more crowded after opening night? I'm thinking about going when I get back into town in two weeks. I already did TKTS [$62 a ticket] my first time seeing it so I can't afford being too pricey this time, haha. I really want to introduce my best friend to it so I want to be somewhat sure we'll get it. Think a Sunday show, after opening, would be crowded? Thanks guys!

Posted: 7/16/08 at 9:17pmI did the Sunday evening lotto and there seemed to be about 4 people who didnt win...definitely hasnt been too crowded.

Posted: 7/16/08 at 11:14pmHow busy is the show? If you lose the lotto, could you still buy a ticket for that show or is it unlikely to find good tickets for [TOS] last-minute and all? Thank you.

Posted: 7/16/08 at 11:16pmI was told that they reserve the last row of the house for those who lose the lottery but I'm sure you'll also be able to get tickets at TKTS.

There have been a lot of people the times I've tried (and lost) and a lot more than a handful of people who lost.
And yes, you have to FIND the girl wandering around with a little bitty basket that she can't even mix the names up in. It's kind of ridiculous it's so unorganized. Yesterday (well, Tuesday) she didn't even tell people they needed to go in and buy the tickets then, and I'm pretty sure the first person called had walked off with her little scribbled on in pink highlighter slip thinking THAT was her tickets.

I'm afraid it will start getting more crowded after opening
I did it and lost this past Saturday but we were able to get like $37(?)ish balcony seats... not ideal obviously but better than nothing! :o (and there was definitely still room left in the balcony, and a 2-3 people who managed to get at the very front of the line RIGHT after the lotto ended were able to get $50 orchestra seats I think... lucky though)

I was just wondering. Would reviews have any effect on the kinds of crowds the lotto would get? I mean if it got a good write up would that have more people wanting to go and thus the lotto getting more crowded then it has been?
Also correct me if I am wrong. But,was collecting names an hour and a half before curtian and then calling the winners an hour before showtime the same thing Drowsy did with their lotto?

Clearly reviews would have an impact. Look at Cry Baby vs. In the Heights.
I'm pretty sure that's what Drowsy did too.

But "you want to go and buy your tickets as soon as [she] calls your name so you get better seats." LOL. (That's what the people who win lottery are told if they ask where they should line up.)
