I could definitely see Grammar as Lawrence. And while I don't have anything against her, Idina would make a terrible Christine Colgate.
Dre what I meant was, Kelsey SHOULD do it so he is in something successful. not that it wasn't successful. Well based on what I remember from Guys and Dolls, I could be wrong though.
Barry Bostwick would make a great Lawrence. I'd like to see Victor Garber tackle it too.
oh, ok. Sorry.
I think Hunter Foster would be a good Freddy!
Kelsey Grammer and Hunter Foster sounds like inspired casting!!
Harvey can play anything so maybe he could take over as Christing Colgate?
I think Kerry reads too young to play Colgate.........Jane Krakowski could play it though.
I actually think Jack Black would be brilliant as Freddy. Hey...He could probably sing the role.

I could see Jane K. playing Sherie's role. It could work.
Has Steve Martin ever done a musical?
My only problem with Black is that no one would have the grapes to tell him what was appropriate and what wasn't. As long as he created his take on Freddy and didn't just play "Jack Black" he might acctually be able to pull it off. I've said for years I'd love to see him play Judas in JCS based on a Tenacious D concert I saw where he sang "heaven on their minds". Like I said though, if he could be contained a little, he'd be just fine, he does have a legit voice when he wants to use it.

What about Michael Caine as Lawrence? He sings a bit in the Muppet Christmas Carol... Just a thought.

Oh I would love to see Roger give Freddy a try. I would move into the Imperial.
I could also see Hunter being brilliant as well.

Michael Caine is a bit old. Roger (Bart, I assume) would be interesting as Freddy.
I only say Caine is not exactly right, cause have you seen what John does? claps his hands under his kicked leg (kicked pretty high too), carries Norbert (which I saw that his standby didn't do, he had Greg carry him) and dance like crazy. I'm not saying that Caine can't do that, but I somehow doubt it.
Carl Magnum- I could totally see Peter Gallagher in the role!
the following are who i thing would make amazing lawrences;
Greg Jbara
Brian Stokes Mitchell
George Hearn (the more we dance would severly not work though)
Kelsey Grammer
Charles Shaughnessy (the guy from the nanny and urinetown)
John O'Hurley
James Naughton
Victor Garber
victor Garber, I would like that.

I saw it twice without John and both times Tom Galantich (going on for John) carried Norbert. Maybe it depends on who the U/S is.
I personally think Tom would be fantastic if he was asked to move up to Lawrence permanently once John leaves. Sure, he's not a big name, but I think if he played the role more frequently he would be amazing in the role. He's great already but just think how his timing and interaction with the other characters could really blossom!

i would love to see him in the role. i saw Dennis P. and he seemed a bit older than john, maybe. It was Dennis's second time performing the role. But Tom, I know Tom, he goes to my church. He's a great guy.
PS I don't think he personally knows me. But, you never know.
i saw Dennis P. as well the other night and while there was a little mixup in one song, i thought he did very well. Steve Martin did do the LSOH Movie, i would love to see him do the DRS Musical, Roger Bart and Hunter Foster would be great too!

Laura Bell Bundy should replace Sherie
Stewie for Lawrence! He's perfect. For real, though. I agree with Michelle as Christine. I could also see JLT, Jane K., Laura Bell Bundy, and MAYBE Kristin Chenoweth, if she toned down the little girlishness in her voice. That could be her chance to play a different type of character, but I doubt she'd replace. I'd love to see Hunter do it as well.
I personally want to see Kelsey Gramar and Wayne Brady. Especially Wayne Brady, hed be a hysterical freddy. I could just see him in the ruprecht get up.
Gotta diasagree w Peter Gallagher "not a good actor." I think he is a phenom performer but he is not right for Lawrence. There really should be some physical difference and Peter is 5 ft 9 inches so not enough contrast. I have always said I think Hunter would be fabuloso in this.
michelle federer would probably do well, as would the understudies - they are usually excellent, or else they wouldn't have gotten their gigs. what about julia murney? is she funny enough? or kate shindle?
it would be hilarious to see steve martin and norbert - i would pay big bucks to see them together. i LOVED the original movie. it's a classic.
Jonart-Charles Shaughnessy YES!! Definitly
Is it just me or is Laura Bell Bundy a little too young. Of course I think she could pull off age better than Kerry Butler, who still looks a little too young from stage.
Just a thought, what do people think about Neil Patrick Harris as Freddy, after seeing him in Harold and Kumar, I definitly think he could handle the comedic end of it.
Oh and for the Oil Heiress, Janine Lemanna (sp?), she's in Charity right now, I think I have the name right.
