Clay Aiken as Fiyero. James Marsden would be good too but not Zac Ephron, he doesn't have the voice.
There's no reason why they couldn't do a big casting search for the leads and find some extraordinarily talented people and then have a big name play the Wizard or Morrible. (Like Hairspray -- they got someone who could really sing for Tracy and backed her up with Travolta and Latifah.)
James Marsden would have been perfect a couple years ago...now I'm afraid he's too old, at least for me. Keep in mind, they're supposed to be in college.
And keeping Idina in the role would be a colossal mistake- it just wouldn't work.
I think Hathaway is a good choice, and I like Amy Adams, but I really think Brittany Snow could bring a really refreshing style to Glinda- maybe thats just me.

Maybe we can also get it through our heads that just because film actors haven't done a movie musical before doesn't mean that they aren't capable of doing it.
Every time people start guessing who's playing what in a film version, you always throw around the same half a dozen people - but nobody knew James Marsden could sing before last summer.
And in the past six or seven film musicals, only a few have appeared in more than one (Efron / Latifah / Kidman) - so I think it's pretty safe to say that they usually don't tend to recycle whoever's already been in a film musical.

I don't think Brittany Snow has a strong enough voice for Glinda...at least not for the legit soprano parts.

Since when has Hollywood cared about who can sing the role???
...just saying...

^^^^^ Exactly. And frankly, I don't see why people got so into these arguments. I can't recall any movie musical performance by a Hollywood star that was bad by any means. Rosario Dawson, for one, has a fantastic voice by my ear. Likely she had a lot of work and takes in a studio to get it right (along with a bit of autotuner), but I think she was great in the movie.
And if Brittany Snow or Amy Adams can't sing the entirety of the Wicked score - who cares? Dub in someone who can. Or autotune it. Film goers care about the stars and the general product. Rarely would anyone care about if she actually sang it or not, or if she wasn't as good as someone else who's been doing it on Broadway for four years.
Clay Aiken as Fiyero
YEAH! Totally! Oh wait, I though you said Nessa, my bad.
My dream cast would be Kristen Bell as Glinda (though Adams is great, perhaps a bit too old), Emmy Rossum as Elphaba and Corbin Bleu as Fiero (seriously, he's more badass than Efron and a better dancer).
Amy Adams? All I know of her is her performance in Enchanted. Her acting was delightful, but her vocals were just okay. I can't imagine she has the vocal chops to sing Glinda. Is she a trained coloratura soprano? Does she even have the range to fake it?
I agree with whoever posted on the last page that Kristen Bell would be a much better choice, if she has the vocal range. I think she is a soprano who also belts, but I am not sure.
You never know, they may go for a (relative) unknown for the part, like they did with Effie in Dreamgirls. The vocal demands of the role are far too difficult to cast a name actress who kinda-sorta sings.
The thing with Glinda is that most of what she sings is probably fake-able by non-fantastic singers...there are, of course, the infamous 'high notes' that aren't really necessary and are unknown to people who don't know the show (i.e most of the people who will see it), plus one could talk sing a fair amount of Glinda's part...which might actually be more effective in a movie (more facial emotion visable aids it also).
So...the part of Glinda doesn't worry me, there are plenty more options than for the role of Elphaba...THAT part is what the movie is riding on.

Lucille Ball in Mame, to name just one.

i agree. the who thing about this is that it is a movie. they can fix things they can change thigns and make them all to be at their full potential. i would say hell no to this if it were broadway cuz its live and you cant fix that. and i agree with kristen bell! she would be great.

I'd actually really like to see Ellen Burstyn as Morrible.
Kat Dennings would be a really fantastic Elphaba if she can sing the part. Same with Jamie Bell as Boq.

I agree with the whole dubbing thing. In the Golden Age of the movie musical actors and actresses were overdubbed all the time. Disney still often uses different speaking and singing voices for their animated features, at least back when their animated features were also musicals.
It's a movie. If somebody is a great fit for the role acting wise but can't sing it, find somebody else who can to overdub.
And remember, a lot of Glinda's high notes are entirely optional and not every Glinda has sung them since. Even Kristen Chenoweth didn't take them up there every performance.
I dunno how well she sings, but America Ferrara would be a good Elphaba- xcept of course she already plays a version on Ugly Betty.
(also xactly y casting people will consider her)
Ellen Greene as Morrible...
i wouldnt mind emmy rossum as elphie..
she can sing her ass off and shes a good film actress

i'm saying this with all seriousness.. what about laura bell bundy? she's been in wicked for a short while, and had a good fanbase from LB, and still can be seen as a fresh face.

Emmy Rossum should not be let anywhere near another musical movie.
Laura Bell Bundy = No.
Emmy Rossum can't sing to save her life, what's worse, is her acting is even more awful than her singing.
Can't believe some of the suggestions in here.

Brittany Snow and Kat Dennings would be pretty horrific as well.
And someone on IMDB suggested Zooey Deschanel for Elphaba...she's one of my favorite actresses and needs a good part, but come on people. Just because someone "sings" doesn't mean they can sing any part. Zooey sings harmless folk music with a shy, smoky voice. Elphaba needs to be able to BELT. I.e. people like Zooey Deschanel and Anne Hathaway can't pull it off.

Kerry Ellis as Elphaba maybe?
They could go the way of PotO, and have actors dubbed by a singer.
Edit: Meryl Streep might make a good Morrible.

I would LOVE Debbie Reynolds to play Morrible in the Movie.
