Would love for Ghost to make it soon.
These things happen in waves. There were a ton of new musicals this season and very few revivals.
About the only thing constant on Broadway are lots of play revivals starring famous people.

LaChiusa's "Giant" is doing an out of town production in Dallas in January, and seems to be aiming toward a Broadway transfer next year. Not sure if they'll make it in for this season, though.

I also heard Robin and the 7 Hoods is planning to transfer. I hope Heathers the Musical transfers, or at least goes off-broadway.

I'm very excited for Giant, but the onkly place I could see it playing would be Lincoln Center (which I guess, depending on the theatre used is technically Broadway). I suspect it won't be seen in New York for another year though. Actually or at the Public--and it is true this new production directed by Greif for Dallas is being co produced by the Public, so maybe it could sneak in before the season's over.
I'm so excited for Giant!
Could anyone see "Death Takes A Holiday" transferring to one of their bigger spaces?
And remember what happened this past season: Almost every new musical that opened before Christmas closed. Let's hope that's not the case this year, but you never know. I think a lot of things will come out of the woodworks and surprise us. It always happens.
I wish "The Shaggs" had done better buzz. It was my favorite new musical this year. And since it's only July that's saying a lot. I would have seen it 8x more times if I could have.

Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaybe.... :)
I'd guess that if Ghost receives the positive reviews it should, that the production is poised to transfer to broadway this season - given what has been listed in the previous thread. really enjoyed the show - way way more than i suspected.
robin and the seven hoods, from what i saw at the old globe in san diego was bright, upbeat, captivating production design and some amazing classic - now that i think of it - in the same vein as 'anything goes' that classic tap - show stopping stuff..
looking forward to lystrata jones.

For such a big production, wouldn't it take a bit longer to transfer? (Ghost?) It just seems like traditionally London musicals transfering to the US and vice versa have waited at least 18 months.
Maybe so, but if it's always been in the plans to transfer directly to Broadway, maybe not? I mean, like Sister Act, it has a female American actress lead. But then again, Sister Act ran for at least a year over there.
And Jordan, I can see it doing well. When I saw it the place was packed and the buzz around the theater was very positive. Everyone seems to love Julian. I mean, the man has a beautiful voice and just gives a really captivating production. I think it def. needs some work, and the set needs to be beefed up for Broadway (which won't happen since Roundabout is super cheap), but it could work, maybe.
Sounds like this upcoming seasons is like a retro 80s/90s season with Yeston, Wildhorn, Rebecca's 80s pop-opera style all back on Broadway.
I think Ghost has the potential to be a hit (that's based off of the promo - I have yet to see the show but I hear good things from a friend of mine who saw it in Manchester) and if it transfers this year, so much the better.
I went and saw Ghost this past weekend in London and it was incredible. If the producers are smart they would take a look at this season's selection of New Musicals and transfer ASAP.

hahaha forgotten already?
Next year Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark will be a "new" musical
As for Bonnie and Clyde...I really want to be optimistic for a new Frank Wildhorn musical but for me his track record is getting worse and worse. I still have hope for him though.
I'm wildly excited for Rebecca, and so pleased to hear further news of it actually going forward and not vanishing into the Theater Mists of Maybe.
Less excited for Bonnie&Clyde, though I *am* a fan of Wildhorn's music. (He just needs someone to sit down and straighten out his storylines; he falls victim to 'nothing happens in this song' followed by 'way too much happens all at once'.) Now, if Rudolf were in the works, that'd be a different story. Still I do wish his latest venture all the best.
FAT CAMP for the motha effin win!!!! I'm excited, I hope it makes it to bdway this season.
Bonnie and Clyde..... aka closes in a month. :/
Rebecca could be wonderful... or terrible... the artwork is terrible.... the big "R" on fire.... can someone please call the company that used to design for Cameron Mackintosh and pay them whatever they demand to get us some good broadway artwork again... seems like many shows suffer because their artwork is bad.

Was Laura Osnes Bonnie in B&C? If so would she still be attached? Hope so.
Whatever did happen to First Wives Club? And Heathers!
Also I thought Nice Work if you Can Get It was with Harry Connick Jr.??
"right that one sounds great too! a musical about japanese internment camps..i mean in a huge economic recession who doesnt wanna go have their spirits lifted by that topic.."
I wish I could be like you and hate everything.
Laura Osnes and Jeremy Jordan, reprising their roles from the Asolo (and Laura from the world premiere at La Jolla), will be performing the roles on Broadway.
philly03. you have seen thier signed contracts?

I am looking at this from a purely empirical standpoint. I don't believe that a musical based on the japanese internment camps of the 1940's is a good premise for a musical in america.
Americans do NOT like the see their mistakes...ie: ENRON. Why don't we do a musical based on the atrocities of the banishment of the naitive americans while we are at it.
Is fat camp coming to broadway?
Look at it from an entertainment standpoint - or, better yet, an artistic one; the music is great, incredibly talented stars are involved in the creation of the project, and the story is one that's not been explored in musical history.
Why don't we do a musical based on the atrocities of the banishment of Native Americans? We did. Last season. "Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson." You must have missed it.
