you know you're a broadway freak...

i couldn't find a thread like this so thought i would start one,
didn't put a ton b/c of course this can be added to:)

You get mad when people say broadway soundtrack, it is an OBC Recording

A LOT of your clothing has something to do with Broadway

You wish you could play your favorite character from a show

(for teens) When out past your curfew, your parents call the theater first

Your OBC CD's are so worn out, you need to buy new ones

The wallpaper on your computer has to do with Broadway

If given a show you can rattle off the name of theater it is at (I do this ALL the time)

Broadway.com, Playbill.com, Broadwayworld.com, etc. are on you're frequently visited list

You can list any show a given performer has been in

A riveting evening is analyzing CARRIE

90+% of your iTunes library is cast recordings

You see a show more than three times a week regularly

Going to a Broadway show is equal to having an orgasm during sex.

Yeah I said it:)

You know you're a Broadway freak when SO has to cancel a date and you're still happy to attend alone!

re: you know you're a broadway freak...

You can spot anyone in a commercial, ANYONE.

A movie rating goes down if there are no theatre cameos. (You've got mail has Sara Ramirez and a market cashier, SO COOL!)

re: you know you're a broadway freak...

~when most of your iPod consist mostly of showtunes.

~playbill, broadway, or broadwayworld.com is your homepage.

~you go to a show and listen to what other people are saying to see if they know what they are talking about(you know you all do it).

~you can list every actress who has played glinda and elphaba in order of their run on the broadway run of wicked.

~you throw tony parties.

~ you get mad at stunt casting.

~you know the opening combination of ACL.

~you know what show ACL is.

~the actors at the stage door know your name.

~you write on broadwayworld message boards.

~ when "the site" is the best invention ever made.

hahaha AKDPerformer!

Ummm....
-when you're converting your previously Broadway hating friends to Broadway lovers because you sing showtunes so much.

"It means nothing to come and sit in a theater night after night and immerse yourself in fantasy, only then to walk out the door and be unchanged in reality. This show will live on in our hearts. But where it truly must survive is in our actions, our compassion and our generousity of spirit towards one another." - Adam Pascal on the closing of RENT

re: you know you're a broadway freak...

-When someone says, "Ooh, I want to take my ten-year-old to see Spring Awakening because I heard it's so good! Is it okay for her?" you think, "You unbelievable idiot."

-When you tie a scarf around your head (a la avatar) and sing The Revolutionary Costume for Today, absolutely nobody is surprised.

-You sing You Gotta Get a Gimmick so much that the entire household knows the words.

-About 95% of your iPod is cast recordings.

-Most of your Christmas list is Broadway-related.

-You know the Theatre District as well as your own neighborhood.

-You take offense when somebody insults a show you like.

I know you. I know you. I know you.

re: you know you're a broadway freak...

When you hate a show, you HATE a show. You can break down exactly how and why you hate it. Example: "But Phantom is so awesome!!!!!" 'No, it is not. And here is why...' etc.

You're seventeen and you've gotten most of your windowcards professionally framed.

You detest not being in New York because you actually think Bob Saget might not be that bad.

You follow the weekly grosses in the hopes that the interesting-sounding shows will tour.

You know the vacation schedules of performers you don't even really care about.

yes, it is!

you've seen the same show so many times that people make fun of you, and because you have seen the same show so many times you don't care!

re: you know you're a broadway freak...

you often use acronyms such as LB, LBB, SD, JB, Q (okay thats not really an acronym), SA, CJH, JLY, JL, and GG and you forget that most people dont know what they mean

re: you know you're a broadway freak...

when you burn a mix cd for a friend and "accidently" burn at least 3 showtunes hoping they'll like them.

"-You know the Theatre District as well as your own neighborhood."

...or WAYYYYYYY BETTER than your own neighborhood.

re: you know you're a broadway freak...

You've seen the whole "Broadway: The American Musical" special

At parties, you're friends never want to put your i-pod in the dock b/c they know only showtunes will come on (my life story, ha ha)

& this happen to me today:
You tell your non broadway freak friend Bob Saget is on Broadway in the Drowsy Chaperone & they laugh at you like it is a joke.

You have a Tony party

re: you know you're a broadway freak...

-When people say that they aren't racist, you go back at them by basically reciting "Everyone's a Little bit Racist" (without actually singing it)
-whenever something good happens, you break out into "Omigod You Guys!"
-Your two favorite colors are green and pink.
-You understand the jokes in Drowsy Chaperone (all of my friends don't understand it.)
-You get excited when your favorite actor is in a TV Show/Movie
-Certain words, that aren't even that important to the song, get the showtune in your head. (example: the word paradox puts "There! Right There!" in my head)
-Your friends think your goth because all or most of your shirts are black. Why are they black? They're Broadway shirts.
