THE CURIOUS CASE OF BENJAMIN BUTTON Heading to Broadway Next Season? Jan 19
2025, 03:43:28 PM
I saw this 2 weeks ago and thought it was one of the best new musicals I’ve seen this year. The music was catchy, the story was (surprisingly) engaging and incredibly touching. The performers were all fantastic (except for one who played the flute). Not sure if it’s a microphone issue or if she just couldn’t project.

Everybody on these boards declare in definitives but that hardly makes anyone a barometer on the subject on which

AUDRA GYPSY Reviews Dec 20
2024, 07:47:42 AM
I saw it in the middle of preview and absolutely loved it. I thought Audra absolutely nailed the role of grit and determination, and even Gypsy’s transformation seemed believable to me. Similar to other people here who loved it, I had never seen Gypsy before, nor familiar with the story line but I have seen a lot of musicals in the last few years so I’m not new to the genre. The comments here all made me questions if I was seeing the same show as everyone else here.

Swept Away Seating Question Nov 22
2024, 10:00:02 PM
I was in center E orchestra. At first I was very worried that I would miss the actions given how high the stage was, but I was able to see everything. After the shipwreck I thought it’s quite clever to have the mirror above the lifeboat.
I felt very immersed being so close to action. Would not hesitate to sit there again.

Also interesting that they list this as 2:30 runtime on the website but people are saying it runs about 2:45. Are they throwing the kitchen sink to see what lands and have major cuts coming?"
What's the runtime now? I don't see it on the show or ticketing website, but on

Before it opened, I remember it getting absolutely glowing wom both her and on Reddit. I spend more time on Reddit, so I may have missed some discourse here, but most of the wom was that it was mindblowing and the hot show of the season. I didn't start to see naysayers really come out of the woodwork in force until the reviews came out."

I listened to the released songs and they just don’t sound very catchy. I got my tix for the first week after preview since I don’t think it will last.

Sunset Blvd. Seat Question Sep 1
2024, 10:09:01 PM
I had seat J26 at the Savoy and had perfect view of the screen despite being far to the side. The screen is pretty high so I would want to make sure the top is not cut off by the overhang from the balcony if you are in the back of mezzanine.

SUNSET BLVD to transfer to Broadway Sep 1

Someone said the new production is "stripped down" so I am wondering if anyone knows what the sets will look like. The last production seemed like it had a stripped down set so I am wondering if the new one is(1) "stripped down" compared to the last one, which would

Funny Girl Tour cast changes. Aug 16
2024, 08:29:04 AM
How is the tour? I missed it when it stopped by Philly. But my Broadway friends saw it and said it was the most boring show they’ve ever seen and regretted staying for the second act. They said there was no chemistry and no one was memorable. I was surprised since I saw it twice with Lea and it was thrilling. The songs and the vocal made the time go by so quickly. I’ve only heard amazing things about Katerina so I’m very confused.

'CATS: The Jellicle Ball' at PAC reviews Aug 2
2024, 12:59:24 PM
Looking at the seat map. What would people recommend? For the same price, would you recommend orchestra or runway?
The cheaper seats are on the side of rows K15-16 and L12-13 or EE 125-127. Are the views okay or should I spend more and move closer? Thank you!

The partial view side orchestra seats for Stereophonic are available for $60 in August. Based on the photos and posts here, they aren’t too bad. <

The Outsiders cast / stage door - hype Jun 30
2024, 07:16:24 AM
I’m glad many of the unknowns in the cast are getting a fan following. The crowd has been huge since the previews and skews young. It think being younger (cast) and new to broadway helps with the stage door energy. They were def so excited just being there and took quite some time with the audience.
I think Gatsby stagedoor maybe slightly larger. JJ and Eva are also very gracious and generous with their time.

Interesting that you feel this way. I saw this in Chicago recently and I thought it feels surprisingly relevant despite how old the book was.
You don’t think women having to resort to underground abortion is relevant?

2024 Tony Awards Jun 17
2024, 12:13:18 AM
I was not shocked Outsiders won based on the NYT polls and the amount of dislike here for HK, which was my personal pick from this season.
I thought the sound quality from the performances were just awful. Last year, only &Juliet had major sound issues. This year, I thought most had terrible sound problem. The camerawork also seemed bizarre. If I had not seen these shows in person, I’m not sure if I would want to see them based on the clips.
