Besides Frank Wildhorn who reused the song Only Love, with same lyrics I believe, from The Scarlet Pimpernel into his newer musical Rudolf......Jerry Herman took the tune of his song S

But of course an inter-racial act in the 20s and 30s would not be OK so she fires the black boys and replaces them with white ones. And finally she comes up with Caroline the cow so Louise can still be in the act but not seen."

Precisely my thought as well!!

Hilty & Simard to lead DEATH BECOMES HER in Chicago spring 2024

as far as Elvis goes...does it really matter? could it be someone in the ensemble playing him, that they themself, do not have an elvis body type?  or could it also read more into the "now a warning" be good to your body, maybe for the stage they were going for different route that Elvis took the potion years before he even gained weight, or took it even after he gained weight, lost it but still gained weight back, since with the potion you only get to have it once , so he

SCHMIGADOON! to play Kennedy Center
 May 7 2024, 07:24:49 PM

To stick with the post, it looks like according to press release it will be based off of season 1. ...... I do strongly hope they only have a handful of songs from season 1 and 2, particularly worst brats in town, both versions and good enough to eat, (to me were the strongest songs) but mainly hope they have most, if not, all the songs they wrote for season 3 that never happened.

To me this is what has been missing in some newer shows.   It's original music, paying homage to the film, using yes a song from the film and similar underscoring from the film.  The camp is just right personally.

When I heard about first wives club that they changed the music from its original run in San diego, i was hoping it would work better when to me it worked much better with its original music from the san diego run, than it's covers of already

This is exactly where I hear. A little Night Music.  This theme sounds extremely similar to ensemble members singing in the Glamorous Life, la la la

La Cage Aux Folles

Hello Dolly...

But they are need the proper performers to deliver the patter, taking beats to deliver the lines.

Bette truly delivered the show the way her speaking cadence in the scenes happened, and the direction also moved from one scene to the next

I'll throw in Xanadu for fun, I mean it's what around 90 minutes, one act, pokes fun at its source material, and all the ELO songs are perfectly lined up.

That's great, but that's not Sunset Boulevard, a name that has clear connotations because of its source material.

But there is no music whatsoever,  no scoring nothing, until they figure things out. Then the music comes back new motifs, new sounds.  Sondheim really could have left it  as it is, if he were still alive, even to push the envelope on what a musical really is, it doesn't need to have an I want song nor an 11 o'clock number to be successful, a lot of musicals use that paint by numbers, and truly how emotional can that be if it's processed to be delivered that way.&nb

Act one has around 38 to 42 minutes of song.  Approximately 5 to 8 minutes of that is music playing while speaking in middle of songs like when they are on road traveling .   Act two has approximately 12 to 15 minutes of singing with an additional 12 to 15 minutes of scoring toward the end.

For comparison Into the woods has about 70 minutes on the cast album.

Passion has about 36 to 40 minutes for act 1 and around 35 to 39 minutes of singing and un

I see it as her modeling days are over so she is trying to branch out and become well known again by switching things up. That's the  beauty of this vision it truly is art, it's subjective, and yes even with more questions than answers it's giving itself it's own life.

Agree to disagree on that, for a musical the voice you hear is the inner voice of the performer of course you want to hear her sing strong.   This isn't a sally Bowles character where her singing or lack there of was part of her performance.   Norma does have to sing the score strongly for the internal struggle, I truly believe Sarah brightman regardless if she belts this or sings this legitly can pull it off.  I THINK her kupie doll wide eyed face works for the s
