Does anyone have any more details on times/dates for this? Since it's a short show I'm wondering if they'll do the Oh, Mary timeslot and allow for three show days.

What a depressing end to this production. I genuinely hope they replace him with someone else.

Broadway Real Estate 2025-26

Oh how I wish we had Cats and/or Evita opening this fall. I'm considering a trip right before Christmas and it's not looking like there's that much I want to see.

BEETLEJUICE Returning To Broadway Fall 2025

Any news on whether or not they'll use the same set and orchestrations from the tour? Or if they'll expand the pit again and use the original set

42 Balloons
 Jul 1 2025, 09:20:24 AM

I loved it. I think it should be trimmed down to one act, add the flying and the balloons, and work to add a bit of complexity and likability to Larry so he doesn’t come across as a total prick. This is significantly stronger than Boop (the other Chicago premier I saw in recent memory) imo so I’m rooting for its success.

re: Have you ever forgotten to turn your cell phone off during a broadway s
 Feb 3 2025, 11:20:59 AM

Not really but recently at Stereophonic I was checking the time on my Apple Watch (on theatre mode) and the damn thing bugged out on me. Screen totally black. I was tapping to try to get the screen to turn on when my phone loudly exclaims "do do do doot doot doot do do"... I had accidentally tapped the "find iphone" button. Suffice it to say, I was mortified. I have now removed that button from my Apple Watch.

New west coast production of Oh, Mary! happening??!!!??

They have all worked in Hollywood to some degree.. I presume they are referring to that. Perhaps they have film/TV projects lined up

lol the instagram account also replied: "truly we just meant sardi's"

Adam Lambert

I thought this was one of Adam's most powerful songs in the show. I love this recording though I do agree it was a bit edgier in the show itself.

I dearly wish a recording would come out from this cast. A proshot would be so incredible but I understand this won't happen.

BOOP! heading to Broadway in April 2025
 Nov 20 2024, 02:56:42 PM

I think it's terrific to have differing opinions on a piece of art. I'm personally more confused than hateful.. I went into it pretty excited and in a good mood and felt so utterly and completely let down. I'll give it a second chance if it's still running when I'm in NYC next. I loved the woman that played Betty Boop and felt she was a total star.

I am also shocked. Genuinely one of the worst shows I have ever seen, but to be fair, I watched it in early previews.

Unpleasant theater audiences
 Nov 1 2024, 01:32:16 PM

Bumping a year old thread to spew hate is not okay. Get outta here with that ****.

Audiences are unacceptably unpleasant lately, it doesn't give you a pass to say whatever you want about them.

Do folks think it's worth upgrading from Mez B to Grand Tier C? Both about equally far from the center.

Finale ceases support, acquired by Dorico: a quiet theatre industry shake-up
 Aug 26 2024, 12:04:48 PM
Converting the files is one challenge. Learning a new tool will be the biggest hurdle.

I've worked with a lot of composers and let me tell ya, they're an opinionated bunch w.r.t. the tools they use. Little intricacies, key combinations, and muscle memory built up over the years can really throw someone off if forced to use another program.

Godspeed! This will certainly impact the production speed of some composers in the coming year or two.

Finale was preferred by many

November trip

I think you should do Tammy Faye, Death Becomes Her, and Sunset. Probably not worth seeing Mattress again since not much has changed apparently (other than some of the cast).
