Adam Lambert

I thought this was one of Adam's most powerful songs in the show. I love this recording though I do agree it was a bit edgier in the show itself.

I dearly wish a recording would come out from this cast. A proshot would be so incredible but I understand this won't happen.

BOOP! heading to Broadway in April 2025

I think it's terrific to have differing opinions on a piece of art. I'm personally more confused than hateful.. I went into it pretty excited and in a good mood and felt so utterly and completely let down. I'll give it a second chance if it's still running when I'm in NYC next. I loved the woman that played Betty Boop and felt she was a total star.

I am also shocked. Genuinely one of the worst shows I have ever seen, but to be fair, I watched it in early previews.

Unpleasant theater audiences

Bumping a year old thread to spew hate is not okay. Get outta here with that ****.

Audiences are unacceptably unpleasant lately, it doesn't give you a pass to say whatever you want about them.

Do folks think it's worth upgrading from Mez B to Grand Tier C? Both about equally far from the center.

Finale ceases support, acquired by Dorico: a quiet theatre industry shake-up

Converting the files is one challenge. Learning a new tool will be the biggest hurdle.

I've worked with a lot of composers and let me tell ya, they're an opinionated bunch w.r.t. the tools they use. Little intricacies, key combinations, and muscle memory built up over the years can really throw someone off if forced to use another program.

Godspeed! This will certainly impact the production speed of some composers in the coming year or two.

Finale was preferred by many

I think you should do Tammy Faye, Death Becomes Her, and Sunset. Probably not worth seeing Mattress again since not much has changed apparently (other than some of the cast).

This website is genuinely among the worst websites I have ever used.

BalconyClub's message isn't displaying so I'm adding a reply to theoretically add the 5th page.. hope it shows up now.

Great summary btw Balcony

Did they cut the ending where the audience rips up a page from the program?

You consider Teeth to be one of these "awful" shows?

I saw it last weekend and had a blast. The musical is a total mess though lmao. Would totally watch it again if I was in the Chicago area.

I don't know the source material at all.

A few potentially unpopular thoughts:

  • I really liked the opening and felt it set the environment really well. The issue is that the musical is like three different stories in one, where only one of them really utilizes this voodoo Savannah environment.
  • I really disliked Tom Hewit

I did not buy (and have never bought) tickets through TodayTix. When I purchased Ragtime tickets I called the New York City Center box office at 212-581-1212

Just an FYI, there was a $700 unauthorized transaction through TodayTix one day after I called to place an order for Ragtime at NYCC. I can't imagine this is a coincidence and can only assume the person who took my order misused my card details

I would suggest that other folks check their credit card statements.

Edit: I've reached out to TodayTix to get more info. I've never used the platform before so I'm pretty confident someone stole my card details but I do want to verify through them, it's possible some glitch somewhere charged me. I do also want to say that there are many ways for people to steal card numbers and the super kind and patient guy that helped me place my order for NYCC isn't automatically the culprit here. I was a bit frustrated when I first wrote this but my assumption is just that, an assumption. And those are often wrong. Just want to raise awareness in case whatever happened to me is also happening to others.
