Just got the announcement email for the cast of the play. The concept didn't grab me initially but this cast... damn, gotta get tickets now.
Garret? Billy? Debra? Constance? Performing Robert O'Hara's work? Holy God.
Yes
That is a stacked cast! Thrilled to see Billy Magnussen back onstage- his performance in Vanya & Sonya & Masha & Spike was truly unhinged comedic brilliance.

That is a cast where, if the show is a well-reviewed success, could probably almost guarantee a transfer to a Broadway house in Spring.
Good to see Robert O'Hara writing again!
This is a good cast of talented actors and should easily sell at MCC, but let's not jump to Broadway conclusions despite the presence of a commercial partner. None of these people would set the box office ablaze on Broadway without Stereophonic-level reviews...and this being an adaptation of a recent Italian-language film, the critics might not see as much originality in it (compared to something like Slave Play or Stereo or Lehman).

It's a great cast and its good to have O'Hara. Shame about Debra Messing.

Jeeeeeeeeezus this is the most stacked casting I’ve seen in a very long time. And with prices only $70 - $100 a ticket, this is going to sell out fast I’m sure.
This must be some great script. The description makes it sound terrible.
I have one slot open for November & am waiting for feedback from previews reports to decide between maybe Swept Away, Death Becomes Her, Maybe Happy Ending, R+J, or something else???
Already booked Outsiders, Hold Me Darling, Great Gatsby, Sunset Blvd, Tammy Faye, McNeal, & Matress.
I take back my previous comment about the name-value of the cast!
This is a really high profile cast, even for MCC. I would have to imagine that a transfer is already in the works if they've got all these folks onboard.
Yep, it’s definitely coming to Broadway last I heard.
And the script is HILARIOUS.
FYI, seats are $40-$80 for the first 4 previews.

welp, I usually do rush but they convinced me to buy a ticket ahead of time ($40 for the second/last row of mezz isn't bad)
And the script is HILARIOUS.
Can confirm. Just got tix for 90 bux each on Halloween afternoon.
Great prices, great show and this cast? Can't get any better.

Just got a ticket as well. I'm not super interested based on description but the cast and price are good and it has Thursday matinees. In case anyone else is looking for a weird time slot to fill.
Also a couple 2 show Sundays on Oct 20 & Nov 17
It's an adaptation of the 2016 Genovese Itallian comedy-drama film "Perfect Strangers".
(During a dinner party friends place their cell phones on a table and agree to make all texts and calls public in an attempt to prove they have nothing to hide.)
New? Not so much. Very much an adaptation of the film with new title.
The cast names will sell this out before it starts in Oct.
I need this to extend one week so I can see it.

You'll be able to. They have a "possible extension" thru Dec. 15th.

Is there any report of runtime?

The MCC box office told me the run time will be about 1 hour, 45 min, with no intermission.

this is a rare treat: big names that are also genuinely talented and belong on stage. Messing and Krakowski are two of the greatest comedic TV actresses ever, so I'm thrilled to hear this will be a comedy that will show off their strengths. Really excited.
