Okay, so with the announcement that Tituss Burgess is taking over as Mary, and the fact that replacements are going to keep on coming, let’s consolidate it all to one thread - especially because I think these brief stints are going to be common.
Tituss is going to be brilliant. I love both of the replacement castings on paper so far. Very outside the box and right on the money in terms of vibe.
I'm seeing Betty tonight and will certainly be back for Tituss. I'm glad the producers are going to keep this open for as long as they can (at least so it seems).
Tituss is going to kill this. It's perfectly suited for him.
Dear producers: for future engagements, please get Amy Sedaris and Tracy Ullman on the line stat. They both have the brilliantly demented humor that Mary needs. I also think Bridgett Everett would be a wild choice that would get folks to buy tickets (perhaps you could stage a Somebody Somewhere reunion and have her alternate the role with Jeff Hiller).
I bought tickets in anticipation of a casting announcement this week; unfortunately my dates in New York are for the end of the month, after Tituss leaves, so I'm still not sure who I will be seeing. Alas. But the show itself is so wildly enjoyable I'll just have to enjoy whoever is wearing the curls.

My brain circuits just shorted from the sheer amount of queerness in this casting. I’d become a squatter in one of the boxes if this happened.

"If this is going to be a Christian nation that doesn't help the poor, either we have to pretend that Jesus was just as selfish as we are, or we've got to acknowledge that He commanded us to love the poor and serve the needy without condition and then admit that we just don't want to do it." -Stephen Colbert

My ideal casting for this show. I'd run back to see it with her.
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

I know I'm speculating on dreamcasting, but in reality, could someone older really be able to handle this role? To me, it seems like it needs someone with stamina to keep up with the manic physicality and fast tempo that the role has to date.

Both Cole and Hannah Solow say the part is exhausting, so you may have a point.
