So I guess hyphenated last names are sort of required for playing Olive, then?

This sounds slightly out of place, because Spelling Bee is light-hearted, for the most part but...

"The I Love You Song" is so completely heart-wrenching.

re: Hilarious Comments Overheard By Tourists and Audience Members

Not so much an audience comment, but still hilarious...

Today at my friend's house (a fairly big musical fan):

Friend 1: (listing movies she has) blah blah The Color Purple blah blah..

Me: Oh, The Color Purple...I really want to see that...

Friend 2: We could watch it..

Me: I meant the musical.

Friend 2: Oh yeah! I heard about that, Oprah's in it!

Me: Um, no, actually-

Friend 1: Oprah?

Friend 2: Yeah! Remember, she

As a whole...The current Broadway cast is medicore, at best, in my opinion.

I don't see how the plot was difficult to follow at all. I never even read the synopsis.

It was fabulous, really, the cast is just so talented. I loved it.

Yeah, I've never done the whole "stage door thing" so this isn't technically stage door but...

After the show it was raining reeeally hard so I was sort of hanging around the lobby area of the Zipper.

I'm just leaning against the wall sort of absently I guess, not paying much attention. I hear footsteps coming pretty fast and then come to a really sudden stop and then I hear "Woah, hi there"

It was Rodney Hicks.

He went on to say "Wow, so

**Movin' OUT

Sorry, had to do it.

re: What is your favorite cast recording?
 Jun 20 2006, 07:49:31 AM
Les Miz NEVER gets old.
I listen to it all the time...and it's been YEARS since I first listened to it. And one never gets tired of seeing the show either. :]

I love Avenue Q. The cast recording is SO catchy and fun...it's "yay".

Godspell 2000 (off broadway). I'm not a "JESUSOMG" person, but I love it. The cast is fabulous.

Ohhhhh I admit, I do listen to RENT, Wicked and POTO a lot..

re: Barret Foa to replace Jesse Tyler Ferguson in 'Spelling Bee'
 Jun 20 2006, 07:44:39 AM
^Yes, it IS quite bothersome.

Soo0o0o if Barrett's last AveQ performance is the 2nd, are they going to have some sort of farewell/announcement type thing? At the last show I mean. Like, will he come on stage all Idina-tracksuit-ed out or something?

I've never seen anyone's last performance in a show, so just curious.

re: Distracting Tony Audience member

Well, I didn't notice the guy but as I was reading this I was totally picturing this, like, old bald dude or something with a giant toothless grin doing ridiculous dance moves.

A bit like the "Six Flags guy"

...But then I saw the bit about him being "17-25" and was a little dissapointed.
