re: Something Just Broke...  May 16 2005, 09:24:29 PM
I was out in the yard
Taking down the bed sheets
When my neighbor yelled across
“The president's been shot”
I remember where I was
Just exactly where I was
In the yard out back
“The president's been shot”

I was getting me a shoeshine
Folding sheets
When I heard
We were waiting for a carriage
Newsboys
Lizzie’s sheets
“The president's been shot”
I’ll remember it forever
And I thought
Where I was, what I was doing
Somethin

Act 1 Scene 4 (After Moon/Billy/Bonnie in Moon's cabin/Whitney in his stateroom, Moon take's Whitney's glasses)
Sailor 1: Hey- Aren't you one of Reno Sweeney's angels?
Bonnie: Me? An Angel? Ha!
Sailor 2: But you'll never get into heaven if you're not an angel!
Bonnie: Well I happen to know a little shortcut. ["Heaven Hop"]

I just started realizing how there are different the versions of AG. That's the dialogue for the one I'm working on right now. That version also has "

Bad rhymes  Mar 20 2005, 09:58:03 PM
I must say Cole Porter has quite a few that bug me. "So In Love" from Kiss Me, Kate is lacking.

"I Hate Men": "Than ever marry one of them, I'd rest a virgin rather, For husbands are a boring lot and only give you bother.
Of course, I'm awfully glad that Mother had to marry Father..."

"Avoid the trav'ling salesman though a tempting
Tom he may be, From China he will bring you jade and perfume from Araby, But don't forget 'tis he who'll have the fun and thee the baby"
re: cut songs from musicals  Feb 10 2005, 08:54:56 PM
I've seen the Rent Workshop CD available on ebay. I think my favorite track of it is the one with Mark and Roger: "He says he'll see us at the restaurant..." I like Right Brain, it's about equal to One Song Glory in my mind. I love Mark and Maureen pieces. The Female-to-Female tracks are cute. The only thing about the songs are the rhymes are a bit under-developed.

My recording ends at the beginning of Real Estate

Add another one on to the Anything Goes list. I'm stage managing.
Last year we did Evita, and the year before was Kiss Me, Kate, and before that was Guys and Dolls.

Seussical is a great show for high schools. The other HS in our city is doing it and I must admit I'm envious. Tons of great parts for people of different talents. Also, it's very marketable. You can talk to libraries and elementary schools about support/advertising, etc.

Congrats to everyone who's been cas

Just wanted to clarify that they are 2 different Trey Parkers. Trey Mckay Parker is in Newsies. He's now singing with The Most Valuable Players, according to http://trey.zacharywoodlee.com/Bio.html

re: Scary Stage Stories  Jan 12 2005, 05:52:30 PM
2 years ago during a dress rehearsal of Kiss Me Kate at my school a big piece of the set broke. It was a door/wall and when it was flown in a support on one of the sides broke, and as it was being flown off again during a scene change it suddenly began swinging, first towards Kate, then directly at our stage manager off stage. No one was hurt, except for the piece that broke in a few more places. I was waiting a few feet away for Kate to change batteries on her mic, and needless to say everyone

Hey- I have a random Rent question that isn't worth starting a new thread. At the end of the show, how do things end between Joanne and Maureen?

But what I really want is a lime green limo.

Was I the only one not astounded by him? I thought his comedic timing was only decent, not spectacular. I wasn't impressed by his acting at all.
