What are some roles that don't require a great (or pleasant) singing voice? Jun 21 2011, 01:57:51 PM
The two Gangsters in "Kiss Me Kate." I've seen it done with mediocre singers and strong singers. If directed and acted well I don't think it really matters.

Photo Flash: First Look at Sutton Foster in ANYTHING GOES! Mar 17 2011, 01:18:51 AM
Not the most flattering pictures. Is this the best what to highlight the show? As far as I can tell the show looks great.

I may have to make a visit just to see some of those chorus boys in sailor suits!

Michael Riedel on Why He Hates Spider-Man Feb 4 2011, 02:15:15 AM
He's becoming the Perez Hilton of theatre critics! I can't wait till he starts drawing cartoon penises on pictures of Julie!

Has anyone ever missed their first or last performance? Feb 4 2011, 02:06:58 AM
If I am not mistaken Stephanie J. Block missed some opening performances of Wicked on tour due to a back injury. That woman had no luck with that show.

Most expensive shows of all time. Dec 4 2010, 06:03:53 PM
If we are going on non Broadway shows, Phantom in Las Vegas has to be up there. I can't find a figure, but I remember it costing somewhere north of $60 million. correct me if I'm wrong.

'Burlesque' trailer -- so IS it a musical? Aug 5 2010, 09:57:47 PM
While I'm kind of interested in this (if only for Cher,) it just seems like a repackaged "Coyote Ugly." From the small town girl who has the talent to make it, to the bar tending angle, to the sassy/ hard-ass boss...

FELA! sued for copyright infringement Jul 27 2010, 07:31:59 PM
FELA! can remove the image from the show, but would or could they repackage/edit the souvenir program and OBCR as well? I'm very intrigued and interested in the outcome of this.

Your Favorite Piece of Stage Magic Jul 10 2010, 07:03:34 PM
"The Drowsy Chaperone" always intrigued me with the simplicity, for the most part, of the story coming to life in the apartment. From people exiting though the refrigerator, to something as simple as using a toaster a a vase. of a floor lamp as a spotlight. Just really cute and clever.

Temp in theatres? Jul 9 2010, 06:55:52 PM
I know certain shows like ::whispers:: "Wicked" which use a lot of fog/smoke/haze need the temp of the theatre to be within a few degrees day to day. One can only assume this holds true during a heat wave such as now.

Best Musicals About America Jul 3 2010, 02:28:51 AM
STATE FAIR always seemed like an idyllic snapshot of mid-century Americana to me.

Shows you'd NEVER see again? Jul 3 2010, 12:39:16 AM
HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL. I avoided it as long as possible, both in movie and live form, but I broke down and saw it when friends where in it. Not enough money in the world to get me to sit through that hot buttery mess again.

Boring Shows Jun 28 2010, 05:47:53 PM
I would rather have a root canal with rusty tools and no anesthesia then sit through "Swing!" ever again.
