Daniel Fish: KRAMER/FAUCI starring Will Brill & Thomas Jay Ryan

Feb 15, 2026 — 12:48:53 AM

When the director gets top billing with a font larger than the title, it’s not a good sign. The text is so strong and the actors so good, why the self-indulgent gimmicks (bubbles, roller skates, and that inflatable chicken thing)?

I didn’t care for it. All the mumbling whispers in the dark at the end of the first act, painful! The second act got a bit better but I couldn’t wait to get out of there. WOMEN ON THE VERGE OF A NERVOUS BREAKDOWN begins previews TONIGHT!

Oct 9, 2010 — 9:17:33 PM

THEATER QUEENS ON THE VERGE OF A NERVOUS BREAKDOWN a new NYMF entry? I"m new to the board, enjoying the witty repartee :) Sounds like work must be done, let the professionals do their thing, comes with the territory. I also bemoan the loss of "low priced previews" - it's a sad comment on today's commercial reality. Attending next Saturday, will be interesting.
