Has anyone seen Branden Jacobs Jenkins' new play The Comeuppance? Curious to hear thoughts on it. An Octoroon and Appropriate are two of my favorite modern American plays, so I'm surprised to hear very little buzz on this one so far.

Looking forward! Going June 8 will report back
I ADORE BJJ and any new work from him is exciting but the originally announced play sounded much more interesting to me than The Comeuppance. Obviously... it might still be wonderful... but it didn't make my slots this trip because it just didn't sound as fascinating as the original title did.
Excited to hear I was an idiot for missing this one!

Anyone care to share their thoughts? Thinking of snagging a ticket to this
Can’t believe no one is talking about this. I thought it was fantastic. A play about millennials reuniting, growing up, getting stuck in the past, and how both old and new demons linger over you and change how you want to be seen.
The catch: 130 minutes no intermission, so make sure you pee before and don’t drink too much. Only runs through July 9th.
It's absolutely phenomenal. I can't imagine the remainder of 2023 will produce something that rivals it, in terms of new plays. A must-see for anyone who loves theater, for sure.

It's already on my top 5 plays of 2023. Fantastic theatre.

Oops! Don’t know how to delete my last post which obviously went up too soon. Was saying that I worried about the long, intermission-free run time, but the play rocketed along, hilarious and heartfelt. It’s some of BJJ’s richest emotional work so far, and I thought the whole thing was dazzling. And what a killer ensemble!
I'll just pile on and agree this was a remarkable piece. Not all of it worked for me, but still it was pretty riveting and thought-provoking.
And yeah, the ensemble is nuts. But in particular I think Caleb Eberhardt is giving one of the best performances of the year.

One of the best new plays of the year, I am still thinking about it....it's an ambitous piece and maybe tries to tackle too much but it definitely comes together.
wish i had seen this. Will this go to Broadway?
I echo everyone's praise. It's a great play and an especially great production. I'll go out on a limb as well and say I expect this to win the Pulitzer.

So....
Can I request some pretty major spoilers?
I was at the show tonight, but they canceled the performance about half-way through because when the actor playing Paco slammed the door on his way inside the house (during his war flashback), the doorframe got lodged out of place and they decided to cancel the show because of it.
And I was really loving it. And leaving town tomorrow, so can't see it next week. And I'm assuming the script isn't published yet. So can someone tell me what happens after that point?
Haha thanks!
It’s going to the Almeida Theatre in London. Exciting!!
