I'd just like to point out that the new proposed Equity contract reflects an increased cost of approximately $104 per week per Equity employee. If a show has a cast of 30 and grosses $800,000, the increased cost would be 0.4% of the weekly gross. And the Equity members get scheduled raises which are lower than the actual rate of inflation and the rate of rising ticket prices. This seems like a bigger win for the League than for Equity.

I was there yesterday, and felt very differently than the above poster. The ensemble brought a renewed fire that had been missing recently. There are only two leads who are new to the show, Alison Luff and Liam Pearce. Alison had big shoes to fill, and while she didnt command as many laughs as Betsy, she brings a lot of heart to the role and I think there’s something to be said for that. The article is irrelevant. I know as a matter of fact that his put-in was always scheduled for 8/11, and understudy Joe Moeller was scheduled to play Shakespeare this entire week, as he’d posted numerous times on Instagram.

His debut was always scheduled to be 8/15, but he was put into the show (apparently) due to the number of absences in the company.
