Re: CBS orders sitcom pilot about 70-year-old woman pursuing Broadway stardom

My dream cast would be Sissy Spacek but I doubt they’d think of her or that she’d take it. I’d love to see Bernadette in this but in some ways I wonder if having too big a Broadway star in the role would work against the story. Hard to know without more details, I suppose. So many good options though!

It’s also impressive how much they’ve been able to bring us new Mary’s each time! Who’s gone in more than once- has it just been Cole, Jinkx, and Tituss? Honestly I’d love to see Jane or Betty do another go.

Re: P!nk and her daughter are doing Next to Normal

P!nk is above Chicago. Next to Normal may be ambitious for her, but I’d rather see her aim big than replace whatever D-list reality star crawled their way over to Broadway after a failed fun on Dancing with the Stars.

Re: Mousetrap - Broadway Transfer = dead?

It’s cool to go just for the history, being the longest running show in the world. Lots of cool things in the theater about the history as well. The show is decent. Certainly not a bad night at the theatre, but also not the best show in the West End.

Re: West End in August 2026

Cole Escola will be in Oh, Mary! through August 15th, so if you didn’t catch them in the show back in NYC, that’s a must. I’ve heard great things about Hit Machine and The Oresteia but haven’t seen either yet. Long-runner, but My Neighbor Totoro has some beautiful puppetry and stagecraft if you haven’t seen it. The Producers will be wrapping up in September. It’s a strong revival.

Re: THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW reviews

Valentina does have Rent Live and the In the Heights film on her resume, so on paper she may appear to be more qualified than someone like Plasma, Suzie Toot, or Myki Meeks, even if we all know there would be better choices.

OH, MARY Reviews (2026 New)

Jul 8, 2026 — 9:43:54 PM

As far as I understand, she hadn’t missed a show at all until the knee injury happened at the beginning of June (I believe during a performance, though I’m not certain) and she missed a few performances then and came back with modified staging, before beginning to miss more and more performances.I saw the show a couple weeks after her injury and was notified a few hours before the performance that her understudy would be on, but to my surprise, it was in fact her who burst through those doors...

BLACK SWAN and WONDER world premiere musicals and more set for American Repertory Theatre

Jun 29, 2026 — 3:30:01 PM

malcs98 said: "I mean given these criticisms do you think there's something of a possibility we could see Black Swan end up in New York in the future?" I think the criticisms are being weighted too heavily. There’s room for improvement, sure, but as the show stands today, it’s already a stupendous piece of theatre. I’d say it may be one of my favorite shows I’ve ever seen. Certainly it is more than good enough for NYC stages, even if there are some critiques of it. How many shows currently on...

BLACK SWAN and WONDER world premiere musicals and more set for American Repertory Theatre

Jun 25, 2026 — 8:39:27 PM

I caught this last week, and honestly I can't praise it enough. I can understand many of the critiques others have raised, but while there are areas with room for improvement, they paled in comparison to the moments that left me in complete and utter awe. I've seen many, many shows in my time, but this one had me feeling exhilarated in a way I'm not sure I've ever felt at any other show.Much has been said about the dancing already, and there's hardly any more praise I could give that would be...

Next to Normal Pink 2027

Jun 25, 2026 — 9:27:12 AM

P!nk actually does have some acting experience. She was in a film called "Thanks for Sharing" about a support group for sex addicts. I watched it once years ago, but I remember liking the film a lot and finding her performance to be quite strong. It's an ensemble piece with lots of stars, and her storyline had her primarily acting opposite Josh Gad! She also appeared in a horror B-movie called "Catacombs", voiced a character in "Happy Feet 2", and has had some cameos in some other films.Obvio...

THE QUEEN OF VERSAILLES NYT review

Nov 10, 2025 — 10:12:42 AM

As an out of towner who hasn’t had the (dis)pleasure of catching this show, I’ve rather surprised to hear the response it’s gotten. Namely, how did Michael Arden create such a mess? Correct me if I’m wrong, but hasn’t he at LEAST been nominated for every show he’s ever directed on Broadway, and had successes with his non-Broadway as well? He has never missed before. And sure, maybe he was bound to misfire eventually, but the gist I’ve gotten is that the show seems to lack any sense of concept...
