We might have seen the same performance. Alexander was stunning. I thought the cast was pretty great across the board, but I agree that the score doesn’t pop like I want it to. The show hasn’t been seen in New York yet but it already feels like a relic of another time.

Ali has very curly dark brown hair. There’s no amount of product in the world that could make his actual hair look like it does in the show. Most Broadway shows use wigs, even if the character has very similar hair to the actor, just to make things more consistent from night to night and from star to understudy.

Sorry but this is simply not true. As someone who works backstage on Broadway, several of the shows I’ve worked on have not gotten a run through in until first preview
