I need a quick hit, come on and gimme it…
Tomorrow night (March 27), the $25 million secret finally comes out, as the musical adaptation of The Lost Boys has its world premiere at the Palace Theatre. Using the 1987 film of the same name as its basis, the show boasts a cast led by Shoshana Bean as Lucy Emerson and LJ Benet and Benjamin Pajak as her sons Michael and Sam; also featured are Ali Louis Bourzgui, Maria Wirries, Paul Alexander Nolan, Jennifer Duka, Miguel Gil, Brian Flores, Sean Grandillo, and Dean Maupin. The original pop-rock score is by The Rescues, with a book by David Hornsby and Chris Hoch and choreography by Lauren Yalango-Grant and Christopher Cree Grant. The Lost Boys opens on April 26; Michael Arden directs.
“Welcome to Santa Carla. Perfect weather. Beautiful beaches. And a charming boardwalk… as long as you ignore all the ‘missing’ posters.
When Lucy and her teenage sons Michael and Sam move to town in desperate need of a fresh start, they soon uncover the darker side of this sunny coastal community. While Lucy tries to piece her family’s life back together, Michael keeps pulling away in search of belonging. As he finds connection with a local rock band and its charismatic leader, his younger brother Sam comes face-to-face with a startling reality: when night falls, Michael’s new friends are even more dangerous than they first appeared.”
Who’s ready for the ride of their lives?!

Nooo that’s very old merch they made from when they started promoting a year ago that was for some special occasion (surprised it’s still up). I’m sure the actual merch will be posted tomorrow.

Anyone else going tomorrow? I’m so excited to see it. I know $25 million isn’t really that much for a Broadway show anymore but hope the set/effects are cool! There are few moments more special imo than being in a sold out Palace Theater 🥰

All they have to do is sell three or four shirts to pay for it.

Those are clearly jackets in the Merch pictures along with the tee-shirt. I would suspect the jackets are $98?

It's made obvious those are a premium collaboration with the label Hiro Clark, which does sell shirts for that price.
It's safe to assume they will have a range of the expected merch in the standard price range, particularly since nothing else is shown.

Yeah this collab has been live for like 18 months it’s obviously not the merch. Can we start a separate thread for those that are invested in the merch and those that actually want to talk about the show? lol

Had no clue who Hiro Clark was. Went to his site. Makes sense now! His tees are $98 on his site. Thanks for pointing that out Kad.

Never seen anyone hate anything as much as CoffeeBreak hates this show they haven't seen. Thought you of all people would be extra excited to see Ali is up there!

Not at all. Excited to see the expensive tech and Lafferty's set. Not a fan of the modern Christian & attempt at rock music (with laughably bad lyrics) - but the flying and tech should be fun. It should be with the amount of money continuing to be spent. The music, visual and tone so far just don't show The Lost Boys yet - or the two level set. Expecting rip offs of Stranger Things flying moments.

I feel like early previews are going to determine whether this is just bad, or so bad you have to see it to believe it.
Would be great to have a surprise end-of-season hit, but nothing that's been shared hints at that so far.

Looks like scaffolding. AGAIN. Is it a concert like Chess and Titanique? Is the orchestra on stage too?? So over these cheap shows.

Y'all are losing your minds over a very bad picture on Instagram. Let's wait to hear more about it.

I've been looking at tickets for an April trip. The first few rows of the Mezz are significantly cheaper than the corresponding seats in the orchestra under the mezz. Does anyone know why? I realize folks haven't seen the show yet, so we don't know much about how it's staged. I've never sat in the mezz at this theatre. Is it really bad?
