I know Patti is an active girl and still touring, but she's also 81. She can no doubt sing it, but it'd be a lot for her I'm sure."
sadly you’re right - she couldn’t agree terms - would have loved to have seen her in this!

Gospel music’s Yolanda Adams will share the role of Miss Liza Jane with Lewis starting November 21, before taking over full time from December 16 — January 25."
I was wondering how much longer Kecia was going to be doing the role considering how demanding it can be and how hard it might be to find a replacement.

Theatrefanboy1 said: "What is going on/into the August Wilson? are they planning on keeping the setup (personally I wish they would, It's an innovative theatre design that could be beneficial to the New York theatres. I would think the latest CATS would do well in there. Just curious, if CATS was going in or something else."
It’s already back as a traditional theatre set up sadly

The seating on the west is already out.
a few of us were there yesterday (about 20 and we were given boxed pieces of wood (from the stage) with a small certificate in as a souvenir)-was wonderful

emotional scenes as expected for the cast.
Emcee David was superb- getting better each show
Ellen was lovely as always as F Schneider
and Marisha gave the performance of a lifetime - the ovation after Cabaret was 6 minutes - longest I’ve ever seen in theatre - certainly mid show!
she was visibly upset after MTT and the pa

Being able to sing one song doesn't mean you can get the entire score, plus acting, under your belt.
I don't see Newell being able to really sell me as Effie White.
And then there's Newell's reliability issues in shows."
I think they’d be great but far too old.
lot of talk for Amber Riley but she was so unreliable and hardly a dream team mate&nbs

Gavin Creel has passed away Sep 15 2025, 07:46:21 PM

According to this latest Whatsonstage article:
There are currently no plans to dim the West End lights for Creel. However, Marisha Wallace and the Actor’s Church will host a candlelight vigil to commemorate award-winning stage star. The vigil will take place on Sunday 6 October at the Actor’s Church at 6.30pm, lasting an hour.
Wallace said in a statement: “London was Gavin’s second home and he did four shows in the West End. The Book of Mormon, Hair, Waitress and Mary Poppins. We will get together and share our beautiful memories of our friend. Fellow castmates, crew, friends and fans please come.”"
A friend in London went to this I remember- anyone got a link to any of it - Marisha really was an angel for organising this - would love to see/hear her singing and eulogy from this

Amber couldn’t manage 3 shows a week in London and had to leave. not sure what she’s been up to for the intervening years but if she couldn’t handle the part back then at her peak there’s no chance now!
it’s vocally one of the hardest parts out there!
Alex Newell and Marisha Wallace would be great

- The Broadway show paused for nearly 30 minutes before resuming with Colin Cunliffe stepping in as Herr Schultz
- This comes days after Billy Porter exited the production following a sepsis diagnosis
This cast is already stretched thin this weekend with u/s coverage.Price was already on as Herr Schultz, Colin replaced Price as Herr. Marty was the Emcee, Karl was Ernst, Christian, Maya, Pedro, Kayla & Corinne(swings) were all on as well. 11 shows left and this cast is dragging itself to its closing show."
Worth noting that Marisha Wallace hasn’t missed a show (or in London) - that’s quite some doing!
I hear Jon Kander saw the show last week and was waxing lyrical about her being the best Sally he’d seen in decades.
