Interesting - I was told a little while ago this “Damn Yankees” was being taken to Broadway, so I’m curious what changed.
Eagerly awaiting a DAMN YANKEES revival.
Pretty damn good season, on paper at least. Glad to live on the Acela.
I thoroughly enjoyed the last Encores production of Damn Yankees which I believe was the original book. The phenomenal cast made it work. On the other hand this Pal Joey revisal is hopeless. It’s so changed it shouldn’t even be called Pal Joey anymore.

Pre Broadway run fall - Broadway spring '26?

Their handle on IG is @damnyankeesbroadway currently. It’s a tell, but of course it’s not official until we have a press release.
Oh interesting! I couldn’t get an answer but I was told the production was happening because of “a big name”. If it’s not going right to Broadway now, curious if that’s because that name dropped out.

This is still the plan.

Was that the one that was supposed to have Bryan Cranston?

Yeah, at one point I think circa 2023 it was gonna be Bryan Cranston and Victor Garber

That one was directed by Kathleen Marshall, who also did that Roundabout fundraiser production with Whoopi Goldberg and Matthew Morrison. Jeffrey Richards and Scott Landis (Marshall's husband) were the commercial producers behind that version (and Richards also has that Pal Joey)...wonder if it's still them or if someone else has it now?

Is there any more info on the TLC musical. Is it going to be a jukebox where it tells the groups story or have an original story set to songs a la Mamma Mia?

So agree about Pal Joey. I never thought that production would ever see the light again given how bad it was. And I think that was the broad consensus at the time.
