Same. But it’s still more believable than the Timothee Chalamet Frank rumors! 😂

Broadway's Most Bankable Star? May 6 2026, 11:40:13 PM
The “Broadway’s most bankable star” question depends on what we mean by Broadway star. Radcliffe is absolutely bankable, but much of that comes from Harry Potter. Same with Jackman/Wolverine, Lea Michele/Glee, Denzel, Bette, etc. They can sell Broadway tickets, but their fame is not Broadway-first.
If we’re talking about bankable stars whose public identity is still primarily theatre-defined, I keep landing on Sutton Foster and

THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW reviews Apr 24 2026, 07:39:16 PM

“This revival at Studio 54 earns praise for Luke Evans' performance and Sam Pinkleton's exuberant direction, but critics question whether the show's transgressive edge still shocks in today's cultural landscape.”

I feel like this is a lame summary, mostly because anything borne out of the 1970s era of transgression has entered the mainstream or softened with age. This came from an era where queer people were still criminalized and/or pathologized. A show like this is not going to always provide the shock treatment (pun intended) for a mainstream audience, especially given the subscriber base for Roundabout.
If anything, it’s modern transgressive edge is the fact that this is a true mixture of queer and trans people taking to the world’s most well-known stage and asserting their queerness as a right and not something requiring permission. In an era where the community is under attack, innstead of trying to win you over, the show dares you right to your face."
I don’t know… I think a revival of Let My People Come would absolutely still shock today. 🤣

My Predictions:
Winner: Liberation by Bess Wohl
Finalists: Cold War Choir Practice by Ro Reddick and Initiative* by Else Went.
*If John Proctor is the Villain is indeed eligible, then I’d bump Initiative for Kimberly Belflower’s JPITV.
The Shortlist:
Liberation by Bess Wohl
Cold War Choir Practice by Ro Reddick
Initiative by Else Went

Drama League Awards 2026 Apr 20 2026, 05:22:19 PM
For some reason the “edit” option is gone for me so I can’t just add this to my initial post. But the rules would have changed / loosened up prior to the 2024 nominations because all three from Merrily were nominated; and Urinetown was nominated last year for City Center. I can’t think of any other instances of more than two performers from a show or City Center productions prior to that. Others will know better than I, but I can’t think of a single ti

It does appear the eligibility either quietly changed or the rules were loosened a bit. Looking over eligibility requirements, it doesn’t state that only two performers from a show are eligible, and regarding the transfer shows “double dipping”, it states that “Productions that transfer within two separate seasons, but that are materially similar in the creative team, design, and acting company, may be considered in both seasons”.

I have the same issue on the app, but if you click “Hot” under news things start to appear on the news section… just not under “Broadway”.

Musical adaptation of THE LOST BOYS. Jan 24 2026, 08:20:08 PM
I mean by Tony eligibility there are new musicals but The Lost Boys is technically the only “new” musical in the sense that it’s the unknown one without previous productions and transfers. If only Dead Outlaw held off a season… and if only Paddington, Mexodus and Bat Boy had opened this season (with Bat Boy somehow eligible in New Musical as correct me if I’m wrong the published perform version is mostly the original off

^Agree completely, ColorTheHours048!
Can we just talk about the amount of performances up for consideration in all four acting categories is insane. So many of them were honestly win competitive in any other year and each of the four categories had at least two or three actors left off nominations that could easily have been nominated and win competitive in any other year… (Paul Mescal, Ariana Grande, Odessa A’zion, Joel Eggerton, Amanda S

Given his comedy chops and previous theater experience, Broadway could definitely be on the cards for him. However, with his rising star power, it’s just as likely that he has bigger TV or film projects in mind. Either way, it’s clear that his talent will keep shining beyond SNL!"
This reads like an AI response.

Also, regarding these split part movies: I honestly think the best way it’s been done to date is with one of my top 20 favorite films of all time… Kill Bill. Released Pt 1 in theatre’s fall and Pt 2 in the spring. I know that wasn’t supposed to be a split movie and it’s the only time the disgraced rapist EP didn’t go scissor happy and cut the films to pieces… but that model should be followed more often.
Like, what if Wicked Pt 1 was re

Paul Mescal not getting a supporting nomination and It Was Just an Accident not getting in for Picture and Director are the most egregious things about the nominations. However, I’m ecstatic for Delroy Lindo; I wish there could have been a tie and supporting actor had all six nominated. Not surprised Ariana didn’t make it but I’m kind of shocked Elle Fanning is who knocked her out over Odessa A’zion. I would have nominated Amanda Seyfried for the fifth slot in Lead ove
