How Much Did the Recasting Affect "Death Becomes Her"?

It feels like nowadays these shows lose all their steam when the original cast leaves, and I don’t remember it ever being this way?  Shows seem to live or die based on the casting instead of settling into a long run.  Maybe Happy Ending is going through the same thing too.

Anyone going to Sutton's 7k wellness retreat?

SteveSanders, let’s take a trip to the Berkshires

Broadway's Best Kept Secrets - Passion + Paddington

Jamie Lloyd is obsessed with Broadway.  I think everything he does at this point is geared toward getting his shows to Broadway for the fame and fortune.

The Buyer Got Smarter Than the Box Office

You also have actors that are making noise about 8 shows a week.  I think the only real answer is rep companies.  If you could do multiple different shows a week and split costs throughout, you could make more money.  A lot of these old musicals simply can’t sell 8 shows a week for a very long time.  Just play them in rep

A lot of theaters are going to be vacant in the coming months - any idea of what’s going where?

If it can’t sell out City Center for a couple weeks, it really shouldn’t go to Broadway.  Parade, Into the Woods, Once Upon a Mattress, and Ragtime were all sell outs.  In the Heights will be sold out.

Broadway's Best Kept Secrets - Passion + Paddington

I’d love to see a lavish production of Sunday in the Park with George starring Jonathan Groff and Jessie Mueller.  Let’s celebrate our Broadway greats.

Goop Kitchen on 46th

Gwyneth Paltrow’s food place has opened recently on 46th street in the theater district.  Has anyone ordered from there?  It all looks fresh and healthy.

Shoshana Bean is going on tour

She’s going on her concert tour this fall starting September 13th.  Are we all just assuming that The Lost Boys won’t be around by then?

The Last Ship at the Met

Has anyone seen this?  Thoughts?  Unfortunately they didn’t offer any rush or cheap ticket options other than a TodayTix drop.

Shin Chunsu two new musicals

One of them is based on a lesser known German novel and the other is based on a recently released film.  They will both have tryouts at non profits, one a historic theater in San Diego and the other at a New York theater that rarely produces musicals.  He expects them to be on Broadway in 2027 and 2028.  He also mentioned that The Great Gatsby will probably recoup this Winter.
