re: Sondheim Playbill Help

Nov 30, 2008 — 8:15:46 PM

As a matter of fact, I've been researching extensively for the past 2 months. The reason I posted here was not just to find the answers quickly. I've been searching for good, high quality Playbill images for some time. For the project, I need pictures of higher resolution than what I (and some of you) have been able to find on Google. I was hoping that someone here might now of some sort of database with larger images, good quality images. Apparently, I didn't convey that properly in my origi...

Thanks, CyCoSpAz2, for your rude and unhelpful response. It's people like you who give this board an awful reputation.

Sondheim Playbill Help

Nov 30, 2008 — 6:43:56 PM

Hey all, I'm currently working on a documentary on Sondheim for school. I'm looking for pictures of old playbills from his shows. Can anyone help me out with pictures of playbills or access to a good database where I can find some. The shows I'm looking for are: West Side Story Gypsy Anyone Can Whistle A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum Company Follies Pacific Overtures A Little Night Music Sweeney Todd Merrily We Roll Along Sunday in the Park with George Into the Woods Assassins ...

With regards to the Company Stritch note everyone was talking about, that's not her singing. It's actually nobody singing. It's the actor playing Bobby, who screams during that entire long note. It's how the music is originally written, and not a mistake, by any means.

re: Best Note on Broadway Ever

I agree with pretty much everything, but have to add the following: -Sutton's highest yodel in "Roll In the Hay." Not only is it great to hear her head voice, which we don't get enough of, but how the girl can support and hold that note while bouncing up and down on a rickety hay cart baffles me. -Not technically Broadway, but Julia Murney in Evita: "Just listen to that, the voice of Argentina. We are adored; we are loved!" Some of the best placement and belting done by her in the show. Pract...

Does anyone have any info on Sarah Hunt? A girl by that name did drama at my High School and graduated recently. I wonder if it's her.

I saw her this past Saturday and she was hilarious. Nailed all of the jokes without over doing it. Great performance!

That's funny that you guys mention Raul having to be on stage for the whole time. I was recently involved in a show at my high school for which we built a black box theatre on our stage. During intermission it was my job to stand on stage in character as a prison guard, still, silent, looking at the ground. It was pure hell. Especially when people I knew were there. I couldn't imagine having to be out there the entire time the house is open.

Yes, however the party that's shown isn't a specific party. It's more of just a symbolic gathering... i think. I'm fairly new to the show, so I may have no idea what I'm talking about.

On the thought of whether they know each other or not. It is possible that some of his friends now each other, and just that Jenny and Joanne don't. I'm sure some of them knew each other, maybe just not Jenny and Joanne.

re: Which flounder is on CD

How do they decide which of the two is featured on the CD in situations like this (where roles are double-cast)? It must be a bit stinky for the one who isn't on the CD, especially as a kid. Is there some sort of trade-off?
