I know Kyle R is playing Melchior, and I've heard RUMORS Bashoff is touring as Moritz, does anyone know the rest of the cast/can anyone confirm the Bashoff rumor?
I know it sounds like it because it's a spring awakening post...
this isn't a a sockpuppet post. I really want to know...

No Playbill announcement or anything, but here's what's pretty much been confirmed.
Kyle Riabko as Melchior
Steffi Didomenicantonio as Ilse
Andy Mientus as Hanschen
Anthony Lee Medina as Georg OR Otto
James Hayden Rodriguez as Georg OR Otto
Kimiko Glenn as Thea
Gabby Garza as Anna
Sarah Hunt as Martha
Claire Sparks as Ensemble
Chase Davidson as u/s Moritz
Krystina Alabado as Ensemble, u/s Wendla and Ilse
Lucas Wells as ensemble, u/s Melchior and Moritz
Blake is about 80% confirmed from what I an figure out.

Not yet, there was a rumor at some point about Jenn Damiano but I think that got crushed.
Oh and fun facts about the cast. Andy (who's playing Hanschen) is the original creator of the Spring Awakening Facebook group. And Steffi (who's playing Ilse) was on Canadian Idol. The rest of the people have done some cool stuff too, but I thought people would enjoy those two facts.

the National Tour cast begins their rehearsals in July (around July 7th, I believe) in New York City.
I imagine they'll be an official announcement by then?

Exactly. Hes just filling some space on Broadway and meanwhile learning the character, he is intended for the tour.
On that note, anyone know whos taking over for Melchi on Broadway? Fingers crossed for Matt Doyle.

I second Matt Doyle. Even though I think he's an amazing Hanschen. He's just to good at everything. I suggest cloning.

I don't know *where* the rumor of Jenn coming in came from...
I assume this is a good cast, I mean, I don't know all that many of them. Medina I've worked with countless times. He's dedicated to his craft, and he'll be wonderful.

Posted: 6/7/08 at 9:38pmSo far the general consensus seems to be that he's a phenomenal singer but a very "awkward" actor. I'm sure he'll improve though. And if not, he'll be shipped around the country in 2 months anyway so...

I know, Gobstopper. I've seen him as Hanschen, and hes great, but I also know hes an incredible Melchior and he deserves it.
And good point about Kyle.
