For what it’s worth the vinyl presentation does look really nice. I’m just not interested in spending 100 dollars for a vinyl.

ALW company is charging far too much for this vinyl.

Interested but not paying that.

Gosh, I can’t wait to see this on Broadway.

IMO, they're way cooler to display. I mean if I'm going to buy physical media in terms of music, I would probably go for the vinyl. It just looks cooler. Even though I'm a kid of the '90s, I've always found vinyls visually cooler than CDs that I grew up buying. Since the music can be found now, online on streaming sites and for free on YouTube, if I'm going to buy physical might as well go for something that I can also display if I wanted to.

I get this. I never understood why, despite the size of the actual disc, CDs weren't packaged in covers of the same size as LPs. Whoever wanted the tiny print and miniscule cover art? I rather hate that streaming is the main way of getting music now (yet almost everything I own is streaming--I know I'm a hypocrite) because it makes nearly everyone who worked on a recording anonymous. End of rant.

I agree that vinyl packaging and general presentation was much better. I spent a lot of time in the music retail business throughout most of the 80s. CDs originally came in 12" x 6" carboard sleeves or similarly-sized clear plastic blister packs (it varied by label/distributer), and this allowed them to be stood in existing 12" x 12" record bins for display in stores. When vinyl went away, CD packaging was reduced to the standard jewel box case. The size was always about reducing shipping, storage, and display costs.

Nope. Vinyl LPs were always affordable which is why we all had these insane collections. We didn’t just have one or two albums of a favorite artist, we had ALL of their albums. These crazy prices are now due to their niche factor as many new collectors of vinyl have surfaced in the past years.
