Dolly! The Musical casting

With them going into rehearsals very soon, if they haven't already. I'm wondering if I'm missing a cast announcement or is it actually just the full Nashville cast reprising? If so, I truly wish it the best, but I'm very worried without a bit of a "name" as Dolly. Curious if there was any word.

There has been no casting announcement. Whether the Nashville trio continues or not, I’m doubtful that they will get a “name” to play her in this.

They want the show to be the star, but it was such a mess in Nashville they needed to do a lot of changes and improvements. Some of the cast will continue from Nashville. January is the very worst month to open a show, so it they had cast a massive star, it would have been announced already as motivation to buy tickets.

Dolly! The Musical casting

Given that tomorrow is Dolly Parton Day (9/25) here in NYC, the team could pull a genius marketing strategy and announce the cast then

Re: Dolly! The Musical casting

I would presume given when she's leaving Just in Time - Carrie St. Louis is continuing with it.

Carrie St. Louis is indeed continuing with the show. I believe most of the Nashville cast is going to Broadway

Katie and Carrie, along with John, continuing.

Norah Nunes (picked from the open call) replaces Quinn Titcomb as Little Dolly, and Gabriel Ebert joins as Porter Wagoner.

Dolly personally selected all five principals, including the new ones.

Looks like Norah Nunes was also the understudy for that role in Nashville, which is being somewhat downplayed.

I will say I'm bummed that Zdrojeski isn't doing this again. I thought he was fantastic when I saw it in Nashville.

Re: Dolly! The Musical casting

would Katie and Carrie both be Featured Actress in a Musical? or would they split them like Katie does lead and Carrie and the young Dolly go featured?

Re: Dolly! The Musical casting

Crystal Kellogg completes the principal cast as 'Judy Ogle,' Dolly's best friend since the third grade. Kellog joins the previously announced Katie Rose Clarke as 'Dolly Parton,' Carrie St. Louis as 'Dolly,' Norah Nunes as 'Little Dolly,' John Behlmann as 'Carl Dean,' and Gabriel Ebert as 'Porter Wagoner.'

The ensemble of Dolly: A True Original Musical includes Piper Allen, Bill Army, Josh Canfield, Lincoln Cohen, Ryan Demoville, Haley Fish, Sarah Hunt, Erin Kei, Evan Kinnane, Ryland J. Mar, Jenny Mollet, James Moye, Julian Ramos, Larkin Reilly, Maddie Robert, Alex Ross, and Quinn VanAntwerp. Swings for the production are Sarah Bockel, Sadie Daniels, Tiffany Engen, Michael Milkanin, and Rixey Terry.

When the St. James Theatre box office opens on Monday, November 9 at 10 AM ET, the first 100 people in line will receive special pricing: buy two tickets for just $9.25 each for select performances between January and May. This ticket offer is only available in person at the St. James Theatre box office, and only for the first 100 people in line. Any fan that morning will also take home a free cup of Dolly's new Cup of Ambition coffee.

Like THE CHER SHOW, the lead gets the Best Actress push so in this case it’s Katie (Stephanie J Block was the lead Cher in THE CHER SHOW and won a Tony Award for it).
