So, I was thrilled that the Heated Rivalry Parody (don't judge me) had a 5 pm show on Fridays, until I realized that nearly every Bway show now starts at 7 on fridays! (which normally I don't mind) IS it possible to get from one to the other (I'm thinking Balusters) in time? I'm thinking it's too close, but I don't really pay attention to how fast (or slow) I actually walk!
Hotels are crazy expensive right now, and was really trying to limit myself to one overnight.

HEATED RIVALRY runs about 90 minutes with no intermission. Factoring in that the show may start 5 minutes past 5pm, logistically there’s no way you can make it from W. 27th Street to W. 47th Street by 7pm. It’s a 35-40 minute walk.

That's what I was afraid of. Grrr.
Thank you for the insight.

Skip the curtain call and take the subway. You'll be fine.

It actually may be doable if you don't mind cutting it close. You can book it to the 7 at Hudson Yards- about a 10 min walk- and get off at 42nd. It would take about 20-25 mins.

if you do want to see Balusters, it would probably be better to take the C/E to 50th Street, but you'd still be cutting it close/assuming a decently quick walking speed.

What about Mexodus at 8 pm? Definitely doable.

7pm shows on Friday nights are absolutely ridiculous to me! That said, you could definitely make it if you take a cab/uber.

A car going into the belly of the beast before curtain will be a nightmare. Just hop on the E/C to 50th.

Completely wrong, I have lived in Brooklyn my whole life and went to HS, grad school, and work in Manhattan… but I’m such a local that I always walk or take public transportation so forgot about traffic 🤣

Although a car into the Times Sq area is a nightmare, the Heated Rivalry venue is pretty far west, between 10th and 11th avenues. She could take a car down the less busy 10th ave and get off at 47th and 9th and walk. I don't know that it would save time compared to taking the subway, but it would largely avoid the theater district traffic jams.
Edit: wait, forgot it was a 5pm curtain on a weekday. Still within rush hour when she would be getting out.

Thanks everyone for the responses, I might toy with taking the subway...but I hate the idea of leaving before curtain calls.
To the suggestion of Mexodus, I've already seen it.

If you're comfortable doing it and the weather is amenable, a Citibike would also be a very effective- and easily the fastest- option.

Animal Wisdom has a 9pm curtain on Fridays if you’re in wanting to squeeze in a show and not have to rush. Odds are also good you could get a literal rush ticket for it and still have time to grab food nearby beforehand.

Yeah but then she would have to sit through Animal Wisdom.

I def don't want to see just "any" show, just to fill a spot!
Again, thanks to all for the info/suggestions.

I figured it out! By going Sat (instead of Friday) Balusters has an 8 curtain! Easy peasy! (Well, easier!)
The Balusters has some weird changes for its last 2 weeks...down to 7 shows/week, and even the Sat night shows go to a 7pm start.

Thanks, Kad, I hope so, too! (Sometimes the best fixes are really the easiest ones!)
