I’m confused. Why did they even say anything? If they didn’t- no one would know, but now they do and they want his privacy respected? So weird.

I don’t know what’s going on, but Deadline noted that he has been in the hospital other times recently too:

In recent weeks, Sheik made several references on the Instagram page about being in a hospital, apparently in New York City. On August 20, he wrote, “I would prefer to be home making music. But a bit of reflection is not too bad … boring hospital stays have their benefits (outside the obvious.)” On September 6 he wrote, “Sorry for the selfies. But I’m still bored in hospital…” and on September 7, the last post before tonight’s message, he wrote, “Out of here in 60 hours.”

He has also been conspicuously absent from recent Spring Awakening activities.

I’m wishing him the very best and hope he can overcome whatever is going on. He’s a man of seemingly endless melodies.

Especially distressing since he has an 8 year old daughter.
