I wonder if Roundabout could start using the Sondheim Theatre for one of their productions again soon.

Roundabout probably likes the rental income. No idea what shows are in the pipelines & looking for Fall theatres. Is Damn Yankees! serious about Fall?

A heard a few months ago that Next to Normal had the Sondheim.

A family friend is an investor on this and was notified late last week by Eva Price that they are gearing up to close with a bang.

The Sondheim is freed up now for a fall opening."
Not a good day to post something without a source.

Roundabout can barely afford their 4 regional-theatre quality productions a year now. Highly doubt they'll be investing in doing more.

Ding ding ding! I was waiting for someone to figure it out before I deleted this thread. ;)

Seriously. Why do people want to post this before an official announcement? Let the SHOW do the news breaking. Thank you!

God I hope not. I feel like the production would get swallowed there. It’s built more for the Music Box or (*gulps in cursed theatre*) Longacre

Yeah, I can't tell if this is an April Fool's joke or not but, either way, this post is kind of in poor taste.
It's not uncommon for companies to be informed of closings at meetings that happen shortly before their half hour call, with the official press release often going out minutes after. In an attempt to scoop this announcement, you've now run the risk of having cast/crew members learning they're losing their jobs by reading about it on a message board, rather than through the official channels of their producers and GMs.
If this is and April Fool's joke, then you've run the risk of having this post get circulated amongst the company, with all of them now wondering if they're losing their jobs today.
So they're either preemptively learning that they're going to be out of work this summer, or they're spending the day wondering if they're heading into a meeting that's going to give them that information.
ETA: This thread played out while I was typing this response, and I see now that it was, in fact, an April Fool's joke. I stand by my argument that it's a joke in poor taste.

If this was the OP's attempt at humor, they must be a real fun time at parties.

Joking about dozens of people losing their jobs. Classy.
This thread is a huge yikes.

Yeah, considering credible-seeming news posted here does get picked up and circulated, this was not a wise choice.

Dumb joke. Go home. Stick to making first preview threads.
