Then it's not for you!
I hope Warner Archives puts out more of it's films on Blu-Ray this year. I was so glad to see them put JUMBO on Blu-ray.
How long is the 5 for $45 sale going on til?
The Gypsy Blu-Ray is stunning. The film has grown on me over the years and I've found myself watching it more on Blu-Ray. The Music Man Blu-Ray is also quite lovely.
They don't say how long the sale lasts. Sometimes they do, but this time, they don't.
It's interesting to me that many of the DVDs they now offer were regular releases via Warner Home Video that went out of print. They are now being offered "on demand" via the Archive. It's a great way to keep bootleg prices from soaring and also keep fans of old movies happy that they can still buy these gems!
I'm also hoping for more Blu-ray titles. I imagine they will do it. From everything I can tell, the few BDs they have put out already are selling well. So why not?
I've also noticed another interesting trend. With titles they think are going to sell fairly well, say, even 1,000 copies, they will go ahead and make a glass master and "replicate" the DVDs, just like they would for a major title. They aren't "duplicated" one at a time (on demand). That probably saves them a bit of money per unit, as long as they sell all 1,000 (or however big the run is, but they usually don't replicate less that 1,000 or maybe 500) because it isn't cost effective. Replication from a glass master is more reliable than duplication, however.
Still, I have never had any problems with my duplicated (DVD-R) discs from Warner Archive. They all play just as well as any other disc I own.
Oh, and I got a little devilish laugh out of buying "Shirley Valentine" for nine dollars. That DVD went out of print in the U.S. (via Paramount) years ago, and it was selling for $70-150 on eBay! A friend of mine was gloating that she got it for just under $70.
I got it for $9, because it's now available on Warner Archive!
I agree. One of my favorites is SCARAMOUCHE. Few years ago it was selling for an outrageous price from private sellers on Amazon & ebay. Now that the Archives has it, it's at a reasonable price. That's one I hope to see on Blu-ray sometime soon.
The Godfather Collection (Coppola Restoration) Blu-ray, on sale today on AMAZON FOR $16.99! Great deal!
The Godfather Collection Blu-ray
Great deal. Just ordered it.
Knowing that this came from pretty grainy 1970s film stock with really low lighting, I was very impressed with the restoration, and the films (particularly the first two) look great on Blu-ray. Yes, they're grainy, dark, and brown ... but that's as these films should be. And they look better than ever.
This is a great bargain, too, for all three films!
That's a fantastic price for all 3 films.
When will the Little Shop Blu Ray come down in price?
I got it for $13 when it was on DeepDiscount a few months ago. That's the lowest I've seen it so far.
And you didn't share?

There's a website called Bluray.com, where you can sign up for a daily email with price reductions and sale prices. I've gotten some excellent deals that way by just waiting a bit after the initial release.
And here's the link----
I've posted the link to it before. It's great, but it only shows you Amazon's deals. Still, I use it all the time!

P.S. -- sorry, Dame! I probably didn't think it was that great of a deal even if I bought it. I didn't realize that was a low as they were going to go for the holidays. I don't think it ever dipped lower.

I got the Blu-Ray of the complete PRISONER series for $25 a couple years back. There's often a feast or famine vibe there, but still, well worth a look.
No problem Bestie. That is weird because I even looked for it during the holidays. I guess I will continue to make sport out of trying to find it. Really the only one left on my list.

I'll be sitting this one out -- I'm already a bit overextended on video purchases.
Well that put a nice dent in my wallet.
Picked up on Blu-Ray-
La Cage Aux Folles
Naked Lunch
Grey Gardens
Harold and Maude
Rosemary's Baby
Black Orpheus
The Royal Tanenbaums
Quadrophenia
Now I need to step away from the computer. Too tempting.
Damn, sort of sorry/grateful I saw that post about the Criterion sale. Spent too much money.
I'm trying to hold off. I spent too much at Christmas ... but this sale is so tempting.
I want Grey Gardens and On the Waterfront.
Alas ...
I don't often post here, but noticed this topic and was also going to let everyone know about the Criterion sale. Glad someone already did. :)
Blue is the Warmest Color for $12.99, by the way! A seriously fantastic film (my #2 of last year, only behind Before Midnight).
