The sarcasm was not directed at Idina. It was at crazy fans who expect a woman who has received death threats to cater to their whimsy. She is much too classy too ever throw coffee on someone or kick them in the groin...but could you blame her if she did if a sweaty, salivating man that had been outside her door for days got in her face?
wickedislife that is the funniest story!! i wouldve been cracking up, but yea i would feel so bad. thats so funny
A dancer might dream to see her name in lights and mean it,
but all she really dreams is to make someone
else feel the way she did when she first saw a dancer.

the EXACT same thing happend to me on a different day... except it was later at night and ia had to catch a train 20blocks away at 12:30am... therefore i wish they would've told me she wasnt coming out at all...then i would've gotten back earlier that 2am!!! it's not idina's fault i guess...i wish they'd change the way they handle it
MaTakeALookAtMe that was so funny until i got to the end and was thinking "wait a minute" haha i almost believed it till the groin part

Well sometimes the people at the stage door lie. When I saw Wicked they told us that they (Idina and Taye) left already. But my friend and I waited anyway, and they eventually came out. They signed autographs and took pictures.
pinklady dive... thats wat happend 2 me and they said o they left... but i saww taye secretly leave w/a huge scarf wrapped around his head and i think idina was coming out l8er... cuz there was a car w/tintiedwindows MYSTERIOUSLY across the street.. bu hey wat do i no?
Yeah we saw a limo too. That's why we stayed. Idina came out first. The funny thing is Taye came out of nowhere. This was when he was filling in for Norbert. We were having Idina sign our playbills and then we look up and Taye was there.
yes and i feel badly but alot of ppl love them. o and pink lady.. i saw it last yr. w/taye as fieyro but this time they just said he was back stage bu t i saw him come out.. and go 2 he back in 2 a car i think very fast.
I personally don't think I treated them unkindly. I didn't scream in their faces or jump up and down. I just asked for a picture and an autograph and complimented them on the show. Once I got that, I left. I didn't run after their limo, or anything like that. I believe the stupidest thing I did was stand there for a few seconds in amazement.
I have never bashed on this board, but finally, I have to.
Are you all sick? These poor people, recieving death threats and incredibly chilling letters and messages which make them question their constant safety, and the group of you are upset or make a fuss that they have to protect themselves?
Wickedislife- that is a joke. Please, find a life other than wicked, because I feel so awful for the woman. All she wants is to make money and enjoy her job and now her life is in question, but obviously stopping to sign autographs with someone who could potentially be her killer is more important.
Please understand where this is coming from. I am sympathetically empathetic with Idina Menzel, no matter how incredibly or littly talented she is. It has nothing to do with any fan, but the situation she is in. It is a startling one that no one should ever have to go through.
And you have the nerve to post pictures and start threads?

do they have to pay for the service for a limo or van. is it like they go home from there or is it just like a taxi. i know my moms job has this car service that can drive them home after parties, is that what it is or is it there own personal chauffer? i guess its not a chauffeur b/c why would she come on foot to get there.

No, no madness. *laughs* If they would have said no to the autographs and pictures, yeah I would have been upset, but I would have got over it. And it's like someone said, it's a priviledge to get an autograph not a right.
I pitched a tent outside the stage door, and she never came out. I had to be there for at least a month.
Seriously, I think it's crazy to wait for 30 minutes or more for a lousy autograph. Sure, we'd all love to get one, but how would you like it if you felt you had to be rushed because people are waiting outside for you?

A price to pay? Definitely. When a person is in the spotlight they should expect publicity. But people lurking in the shadows stalking them, having no empathy or sympathy for what they are dealing with? The problem is that you guys who see nothing wrong with being an overly agressive fan just need to get a life.
