totally agree Dollypop...the show is a disaster and also a must see. What bar were you at where they told you to get a double?

How can I forget the fact that little Vera and her mother were killed in a car accident because her friend went to buy a Slurpee???
I think that was my first guffaw in the show.
Is this a real-life Springtime for Hitler?
That's what my best friend compared it to when she saw it.

With "Springtime For Hitler" the audience was numb in disbelief. With this show some people genuinely like it.

About one third of the audience gsve it a standing ovulation last night.
a standing ovulation
Wow, I'd hate to have to clean up that mess.

Don't bother cleaning up the mess. It goes with what's onstage.

Does anyone think this show has a chance of making it to opening night?
Baby -- I think it will run till Christmas....this is another BROOKLYN -- its got lots of money behind it.

I hate to wish bad things for the cast and crew, but this show is really bad. It's close to THOUS SHALT NOT in badness.

I'm with Michael Bennett.
I don't see any way this show could close before opening; Joe Brooks is too rich, too proud and WAAAAY too crazy to let that happen.
It's got to stick around for at least a few performances.
yea totally agreed, Joe Brooks will keep this open for a while...I hope long enough for me to see it, also he really would like the rights to tour the show, so he's attempting to do that, so i think we'll have this show w/us at least til the end of the year...but w/ticket sales like they are i just dont know why that man is keeping it open!

I wouldn't mind a cast recording. From what I've heard, the mess is in the book. I got a sample CD last week. It's nice to listen to. A little repetitive, but it's not horrible. Lovely voice Chiara's got.

Can you imagine what Mr and Mrs Mid-West America will think of Winston, Big Al and his Dr. Pepper, the depiction of heaven and the guy moving in with the girl?
They will probably appreciate the big lemon in the final scene.
I think community theatres would actually stage IN MY LIFE -- just as I think they will stage BROOKLYN.
HAHAHAHHAHA
You're comparing BROOKLYN to IN MY LIFE?! Are you crazy?
BROOKLYN has a very big fan base behind it. Many people loved it. That's why it was ON Broadway for almost a year. Everyone that sees IN MY LIFE think its a very very bad joke. Everything BUT the cast is horrible in that production. Even the people who liked the show start to doubt it. You CAN NOT compare the two.
MY GOD!
It should be called HIGHWAY TO HEAVEN- the Musical!
And that little girl who opens it has the vocal problems of a 50 year old night club singer! OUT OF CONTROL!
IN MY LIFE is more entertaining then BROOKLYN will ever be. But its simply a matter of comparing trash cans. They are both garbage. And both will be staged again.
I DOUBT In My Life will be EVER staged again.
The only reason IN MY LIFE is "entertaining" is because it's SO BAD, it's funny.
please stop arguing and when you mention things please keep brooklyn out of it, so what if some people didnt like brooklyn, its bad enough that it closed dont drive another stake through its coffin!! GOD!
Just wait till you see community theatres try to stage BROOKLYN starring semi finalists from the Miss Chick-Fil-a pageant. That is going to be true comedy.
Joe Brooks doesn't deserve to have as much money as he does. Just goes to show you, idiots can still succeed somewhat.
I feel SO BAD for that cast...but I agree, I CANNOT wait for the reviews!

I think it's fair to compare IN MY LIFE with BROOKLYN. They are both shows of the same ilk. You couldn't expect us to compare IN MY LIFE to A CHORUS LINE, could you?
