awww Thank you soo much for all your posts and specail thanks to BSoBW2 that was a great review, glad you enjoyed yourself. I wish like hell I could have been there. i love Steven Pasquale and am so glad to hear that he kicked ass. How was celia? Gosh that cast is feirce.
Ugh. I loved loved LOVED this. If only there were a cast recording.
I do believe that when Jesse thanked his friend colin for running the powerpoint it was ze great colin Hanlon he was referring to, as well.
Celia was fantastic, whenever she was on the side doing chorus she spent the whole time dancing.
She also sang, a song right before Charlotte starts running, I'm not sure it was in the off-Broadway production and if it was it was greatly extended in this, or maybe I'm just crazy?
Plus, she got to sing the introduction to Kathy's character as well, which also wasn't in off-broadway
"The 90 Year Old Man" was cut very early in previews. Great song.

Did someone sing "Perfect"? That was my favorite song in the score...
glad to hear! Celia is a hoot and love her. Colin hanlon was there??? Why god can't I live in NYC>?
Nikki Jame's sang Perfect, she had a lot of fun with it, I missed hearing Marcy sing it though.

No freaking way! As much as I love Marcy Harriell, Nikki James is quickly becoming one of my favorites. I'm sure she was AMAZING!
Nikki James is incredible...have you heard her on the Bernarda CR? She's amazing as I'm sure all of you her saw her in Bernarda would agree. she's feirce and proven how versatile she is.

Nikki was carrying around her copy of BERNARDA ALBA after the show.
She was excellent. They all were excellent.

I haven't heard her on the Bernarda Alba recording yet, but I did catch the show and she was amazing, like you said. I should be getting my copy of the CD this week!

I was there, on one of the barstools in the lower part. They weren't that comfortable, but I was grateful to have a seat after not being able to get reservation.
Seriously, I LOVED it. It was just too short, LOL.

I was sitting here, wishing I was there. I want to hear this score so bad. It sounds like a great show. I hope it gets a staging, what with all the LaChiusa love latley.

Was sitting in the middle couch section - in between the fabulous Kevin Cahoon and his friends, and Barret Foa and his friends. I was the one guy in a group of about 10 girls. Surprise.
The concert was fabulous. The piece seemed a tad disjointed in concert but I fell in love with the score (like I do everytime I hear a LaChiusa score for the first time). So, the next morning I picked the libretto up at the Drama Bookshop (which I highly recomment people interested in the show do) to find that it is a stunning, exquisite piece of work. As soon as you finish reading it, the music becomes even more beautiful.
Seeing Marcy sing again made it completely worthwhile.
Yes, Colin was there, running the powerpoint. That was a real treat. :)
Jennifer Laura Thompson was stunning as was the rest of the cast. Laura Benanti was missed, but Celia stepped in and sang her song beautifully. But it was Lea Delaria who really stole the evening - what a truly gifted, extraordinary performer. (If you don't have either of her solo albums, I HIGHLY recommend them both.)
Seeing Mary Testa perform again was a real treat. But even better was her remembering me from SEE WHAT I WANNA SEE. Being remembered by one of your idols is one of the greatest feelings in the world.
