Madonna gets unplugged:

"Madonna’s still trekking around the earth on her Rebel Heart world tour, and during the show’s stop last night in Glasgow, apparently the iconic pop star ruffled some feathers when the concert ran long — apparently past the city’s curfew — forcing the arena’s management to unplug the power to her sound and lights.

According to a fan on the scene:

Just when Madonna was about to sing the very last song of the Rebel Heart Tour set list “Holiday,” SSE Hydro Arena unplugged the sound and light system.

Never one to go down without a fight, Madonna returned to the stage and gave fans an unprompted, unprecedented acoustic rendition of “Holiday” with every light in the arena turned on. Wearing a Santa hat and singing into a microphone with no power, Madge let her fans do most of the singing for her as she grinned and danced alongside her onstage crew. So I read that her last three shows, she did not take the stage till after 10:30.  I see her Wednesday in Atlanta.  i can deal with a hour late.  But two and a half hours is a little too much.

Look, either you have a #rebelheart or you do not.  David Bowie taught Madonna, this high school cheerleader from Detroit, that it was okay to be who she was.   Because high school cheerleaders are THE LEAST POPULAR KIDS IN SCHOOL so she really needed the confidence boost, being such an outsider.  Thanks Bowie!  #rebelrebelheart

She was late for sure, but 2 and half hours, no. She is due on at 9pm and is coming on about 10 past 10. The DJ support act starts at 8 (we had MaryMac and she was awesome) till 9pm

Mister Matt, which show did you see?  The two Texas shows reviews stated she came on two and a half hours late.  They said the show got out at 1 a.m.  The Louisville review stated she got on the stage close to three hours late.  And stated she was possibly drunk.   People couldn't be that ditsy.  I'm hoping since Atlanta is one of the shows she postponed, she won't make us wait too long.  I had planned to take MARTA to the show, but they cease operations at 1 a.m.  We don't want to get stranded if indeed the show gets out near that time.

I saw her last month and she finally stumbled on stage around 4am and it was just me and the cleaning crew in the stadium. She sat on the stage and cried for a while before mumbling the lyrics to "You'll See" before throwing up and being escorted out. 

 

But i was lucky to get to see her live.

She is for sure come on much later these past few dates but not 2hours late, people seem to think the show starts at 8pm, it doesn't, the support act starts at 8pm till just after 9, she is supposed to be about half 9, dont know why she is so late this and the past week. In Birmingham where i watched her she was on 9.20pm and off by 11.30pm.

 

The drunk thing is hilarious, never happened.

Songanddanceman2, Inside Edition last night showed footage of her downing two shots during the show.  She then went on to say, holding her ukelele, "I'm too drunk to play this".  Now whether or not she was ...who knows?  Miss Thing, is a little up there in age to play pretend.

So, I saw the show last night.  When we entered the arena they stated "due to circumstances beyond our control, Madonna will not take the stage until approximately 10:45 and finish at approximately 1:15.  The last MARTA train will leave at 1:15.  Make your plans accordingly"  Well she came on at 10:50 and did finish at 1:15.  I made the smart decision to park at the arena.  Had I not, we would have been forced to take a taxi in concert traffic from Downtown to Buckhead, (to retrieve my car at the MARTA station), probably costing well over $100.  The concert itself was great even with the late start. After some of the bad pr from the last two shows, she was in fun form.  Her banter with the audience was never rude or dismissive.  I could have given the show a 10.  However, she eliminated the Dress You Up number from the setlist, which was one of the songs I was really looking forward to.  I can't say enough how disappointed I was.  She wasn't running long, because three times after where the song would have appeared she bantered with the audience for several minutes.  For that reason i will give it a 8.  Many people left in droves around 12:30.  I guess due to work or the MARTA schedule.  Another plus for me, was my ticket cost $100 less, than everyone else I was sitting around.  So even without Dress You Up, my $115  ticket was well worth it.

She pisses me off.  The "circumstances beyond our control" thing is just BS.  She has done the same thing before.
