For those who are interested, you could probably still swing by the theatre and get a decent seat. Maybe not the best seat but based on how many people were there are how many tickets each person was buying, you should still be able to get a ticket.
It was a nice event, and it wasn't too hot for me as long as I stayed in the shade. I enjoyed watching the tap dancers competing, and I ended up with four very nice seats for $19.33 each. We were delayed about a half hour by a ticketing snafu, so the show's reps bought Baked by Melissa cupcakes for everyone on line.
Was there this morning and after the computer glitch, a visit by Mara Davie, the tap contest, cupcakes and the poor young lady who collapsed unconscious (she's fine, thank goodness), I got two great seats.
On a whim, I just went back, an hour ago, to get tickets to take my partners' parents and got four great 5th row aisle seats for a Saturday.
If you think you missed out, give it a shot. There seem to be great seats left.
That's great information, that good seats are still available. Plus, it's a small theater, so I imagine the sight lines are good from almost everywhere.
I must have missed the young woman who collapsed! I'm glad she's okay.
I'm disappointed I didn't know about this event till just now. Any show for $20 is worth it. Has their lotto/rush policy been announced yet? I haven't seen anything about it.

As I understood it, this was just for today, to celebrate the box office opening, but keep your eyes peeled, if they didn't sell out previews, you never know if they'll have another promotion.
People are keeping these things quiet, and I understand the rationale of not posting about something. Otherwise you're just helping to create even more competition for tickets. But I guess I'm surprised that we're able to keep our collective mouth shut! I found out today that I missed a similar ticket deal for Sylvia, with $20 seats. I think it was Friday. I hadn't been planning to see the show, but I would have lined up for cheap tix. Did anyone get to that event?
