Sweeney Todd didn't have the best of content for the family and it ran.

Once again, "there are no rules."

I thought this show, while not Sweeney Todd, had enough going for it to draw in an audience, but that was not meant to be,

Speaking as a huge fan of this show, I think they should have marketed to the family demo

I adore that, Tazber. I literally laughed out loud.

This show should do well in high schools.

Yeah. Like there is not enough violence in schools.

Maybe in regional theaters, but I can't see most high schools doing this. I love the show though.

I love the show but I don't see the high schools or even regional theaters  doing this...maybe if they cut out all the sex and violence.  I would want a cast recording too!

I'm actually a fan of the movie. I saw it many, many years ago as a teenager and it was... really weird and awkward to watch. I also remember it being strangely humorous. Some years later, I ended up having a newfound appreciation for it. It has many memorable, bizarre, and/or arresting scenes and dialogue.

So while I have always been in the camp of thinking the book and music of this adaptation was not great based on what was out there from London and the promo material for the Broadway production, I'm still glad to have seen it.

I gave it a shot. I wanted to be pleasantly surprised but it didn't happen. I'll leave it at that; no sense in kicking people when they're already down.

Much props to Benjamin Walker, who got injured from last night based on what a previous poster in another thread mentioned. In today's matinee, he had bandages around his ankle and he still performed, although... I could see him limping in the second act. I hope he heals quickly and doesn't make it any worse!

Best wishes to everyone at American Psycho and to their future endeavors.
