Santino did lovely work in Dolly. He was happy to play the straight man to Charlie Stemp’s campy Barnaby. Then he took center stage for his courtroom monologue and made it something special. Jerry Zaks has pushed the replacement cast to play the humor very broadly, but Santino delivered the potentially saccharine “moment” without a trace of irony and became the emotional heart of the show
