This was one of the best things I saw all of last year and I’m thrilled it’s (surprisingly) available to rent and buy digitally today on Amazon, Vudu etc.
Jaden was really wonderful. He’s going to be doing that new musical “After You” that will stream as part of the “Tonight At The London Coliseum” series.
Interesting that Michael Ball ( who topbills this concert) is now singing the role of Javert. Michael was the original Marius and also sang the same role in the 10th anniversary concert. Not very well known, but at the request of Cameron Mackintosh, he sang the role of Valjean at a special concert at Windsor Castle for the Queen and the Prime Minister of France who was there on a state visit. When Mackintosh wanted him to reprise the role at the West End, he declined saying it was not in his vocal range and recommended Alfie Boe for the role.
Btw, he has also done a cover of I DREAMED A DREAM in one of his musical theatre albums.
I'm watching it again right now and was reminded how I really liked some of the adaptations they made for this concert. It's hard not to make the final battle not look silly when there is no barricade and no guns, but it works here. And Gavroche gets to die with the rest of the boys!

I was going to skip this because Enjolras has a man bun and the little girl who saw Les Miz and walked away wanting to be Enjolras cannot approve of such things (that's me).
