Does anyone know if there is a complete listing of all the shows that have been filmed? I collect films of Broadway musicals and plays and I don't knoe how I can tell if my collection is complete.

Bially, do you mean movie adaptations (Chicago) or musicals that were simply filmed in a theatre (Sunday In The Park With George)?

"Do you know ChrisLovesShows?" "Yes. Why, yes he does!"

I'm not sure if these have been released on Region 1 DVD or NTSC format ( USA) - but these were originally released in the UK --

*Jesus Christ Superstar ( with Glenn Carter)
*Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat ( with Donny Osmond and Maria Friedman)
*Cats

Have you check Broadwayarchive? Not much in way of musicals, but plenty of classic plays.

Rest in peace, Iflitifloat.

Yes, they were. I got the first one as a gift this past Christmas, the second one I bought a couple of years ago. I don't have the third, but I've seen it on Amazon.com.

TABOO, London Cast out on DVD. Just got it!!!! (of course, technically not a Broadway cast show) ...

.... and I have the Wonderful Town from the 60s (I think) with Roz. Russell. not sure if that's available, though, or if I have a bootleg.

Pirates of Penzance from Shakespeare in Central Park. It's worth having for Patricia Routledge's Ruth.

I believe all broadway shows are filmed for historical documentation. And they are held in archives at the lincoln center library i think.

Yes, they are, but you can only see them if you have a specific reason to do so, i.e. research. The average person cannot just walk into the library and ask to see any particular tape.
