Lots of impressive increases this week. JERSEY BOYS jumped 23.1% after receiving a solid slate of reviews last Sunday. RENT appears to already be reaping benefits from all of the movie hype. CHARITY's up almost 30% and SWEENEY 15.5% A very good week for most shows.

YAY RENT!

(Martha Graham from a letter to Agnes de Mille) "There is a vitality, a life force, a quickening That is translated through you into action, And because there is only one of you in all time, This expression is unique. If you block it, It will never exist through any other medium And be lost. The world will never have it. It is not your business to determine how good it is, Nor how valuable it is, Nor how it compares with other expressions. It is your business to keep it yours, clearly and directly, To keep the channel open. You do not even have to believe in yourself or your work. You have to keep open and aware Directly to the urges that motivate you. Keep the channel open. No artist is pleased. There is no satisfaction whatever at any time. There is only a queer, divine dissatisfaction, A blessed unrest that keeps us marching And makes us more alive than others."

Lion King isn't at 100 percent? Shocking.

Wow. Congrats to CHARITY for making the biggest jump.

This is what I love about the show. It can have a VERY bad week, but the next week is very strong.

I wonder if Piazza will make it till March. 79 isn't especially great. I hope so. I was planning on seeing it in January.

Break even is normally somewhere in the low 60s (depending on the average ticket price), so 79 likely means they made a healthy profit last week, as they have every week since they opened. And we're about to go into the busy holiday season when the tourists return and nearly every show posts 90+% attendance numbers. I wouldn't worry about Piazza making it until March (and, in fact it'll probably be extended until summer).

Whoot! RENT is doing great! Lion King - seems to be loosing some steam, but i'm sure it will bump back up in the Holidays.

EDIT: Rosario's on TRL and just sang "Another Day" from RENT - whoot! Updated On: 11/15/05 at 05:06 PM

Lion King was the second highest grossing show last week (behind you know what), with $1,115,783. Doesn't seem to be losing steam at all.

Begin at the beginning and go on till you come to the end: then stop.
